(specific with the morning routine:
time) - Greeting student
- Calendar

- Today we will learn about
patterns :
Hook:

Play a video to the children :

https://www.youtube.com/
watch?v=wV7wxT743Ho

stop the video

0:17 second and let them

repeat with the song , toast
and celery ,toast and celery,
and ask them what will come
next

when we finish the video, ask

the student what we will
learn today

S: Pattern

T: now I will draw a pattern,

Sq.c.sq.c.sq.c (will ask the
student what are the shapes?)

So, let's say that the square is

A
And the Circle is B

T: point to the patterns and

ask the student to say it using
the A, B sequence.
a.b.a.b.a.b.a.b

T: Repeat with me the pattern

 Sq.c.sq.c.sq.c

T: Now who can tell us what

comes next?
T: Will draw the C And ask the
student does it look like a
pattern? Sq.c.sq.c.sq.c.c
If no, Why?
If yes, Why? – T: will ask the
student to read it again.

T: Now who can tell us what

comes next?
T: Will draw the SQ and ask
the student does it look like a
pattern? Sq.c.sq.c.sq.c.sq.
If yes, Why?
If no, Why?
So, pattern is a repeating
thing.

Modeling Teacher
T: call few students in front of
the classroom (6 students)-
hand them cubes (Red-Green)

T: Demonstrate how to make

a pattern by letting student
(Hand up, hand down)
T: Anyone with red cubes put
their hands up.
T: Teacher will ask the student

T: Discuss (why do you think

this is a pattern?)

(call one more student and

hand him/her a cube (red or
green) and let him do the
same as the red or green are
doing.
(IF red hands up / IF green
hands down)

T: Can you tell me the pattern

you see?

T: do you think now that it’s a

pattern? And why?
-student will give answer by
either a: Thump up thump,
down / OR cards yes, no

T: Teacher will ask one

student who agrees it’s a
pattern and one who does not
to discuss why:
