network of Academies whose sole purpose is to train and develop our clients and partners. We
constantly strive to keep our customers up to date with cutting edge technology in the Marine,
Power and Turbomachinery Industries in both practical and theoretical training programs across
the world.

Our MAN PrimeServ Academies generally serve three purposes:

1. To train our customers' personnel in both Operation and Maintenance processes
2. To continuously develop our own employees to ensure they can provide the level of service our
customers both expect and deserve
3. To promote our industry to the next generation, working with schools, colleges and universities
to create a sustainable industry.

Our Academies allow hands on training on genuine equipment supported by simulators and
auxiliary components to provide a comprehensive practical experience. Our range of engines
and turbomachinery allow real life situations of maintenance techniques to be followed along
with trouble shooting techniques in a risk free environment.

It goes without saying that Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do and included in
every course we offer.

We are committed to acting local but thinking global, so our Academies are close to you, our
customer. From Shanghai to Fort Lauderdale and from Rio to Augsburg we are able to offer
programs in English, German or the local language.

Insulation of academy
The MAN PrimeServ Academy
at Holeby was specially insu-
lated to reduce heating and
lighting costs. They achieved a
yearly reduction of more than
1,029,000 KWHs, a saving of
98,000 EUR. With a reduction
of 85 tons CO2, Holeby has
achieved its 2020 target of
a 20% cut in its energy con-
sumption, thus contributing
towards the protection of the
environment.

Our academy in Rio de Janeiro
runs a joints venture with a lo-
cal technical school. Students
are offered the opportunity to
participate at selected turbo-
machinery courses during their
summer vacation. The partici-
pation is fully subsidized by the
MAN PrimeServ Academy.

Capetown – Support
for St Joseph’s home
St Joseph’s Home provides
free medical and rehabilitative
care for children who suffer
from chronic and debilitating
illnesses. MAN Diesel & Turbo
assisted the home by replant-
ing their entire football field, in-
stalling irrigation and providing
the children with football kits.
Busan – Government
consortium project
Most manufacturers in Bu-
san are not able to train their
employees. And the training
needs around the academy
are increasing. The gov-
ernment will invest approx.
650,000 EUR per year in the
MAN PrimeServ Academy
Busan, which invests the
money in training facilities
and materials for the Korean
engine-part manufacturer.
Shanghai – Scholarship
In order to support future ma-
rine engineers, MAN PrimeServ
China awarded scholarships to
outstanding teachers and stu-
dents at two major maritime
universities in China. A total of
120,000 RMB are donated to
the universities every year to
support less affluent students
and to improve the company’s
reputation among China’s fu-
ture marine engineers.
