1. Introduction

1.1 Personality

The combination of attributes or characteristics that frame a person's unmistakable

character is personality.

The term personality is evolved from Latin word- ‘PERSONA’, meaning ‘mask’

especially worn by the actor in theatres. This was subsequently adopted by Romans.

For Romans, the word ‘persona’ refers to as one appears and not as one actually is.

(Mishra, 2008, p. 514) Regardless of much research, the origin of personality are as yet

a mystery, there are numerous hypotheses that attempt to clarify them.

Gordon W. Alport of Harvard University (1937) defined “Personality is the dynamic

organization within the individual of those psychophysical systems that determine his

characteristics behavior and thought.” (Hurlock, 2001, p. 7)

According to Hillgard et.al “Personality may be understood as the characteristics

pattern of behavior and modes of thinking that determine a person adjustment to the

environment.”

Fred-Luthans describe “Personality means how people affects others and how they

understand and view themselves as well as their pattern of and outer measurable traits

and the person’s situation interaction.”

Personality is the collection of characteristic, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are

associated with a person. It also includes the inner parts of the psychological experience

which we collectively called our ‘self’.

1.2 Types and traits of personality

Separate analyst has separate idea to present the personality. So there are independent

traits and types of personality which are clarified by different analysts.

1
Types of Personality

William Sheldon an American psychologist has differentiated personality into three

body types and they are:

o Ectomorph: Described as linear, thin, usually tall, lightly muscled, and flat

chested and dedicated; described as scholarly, slanted to wait isolation,

loneliness and disguise; being self-aware, tense, anxious, restrained in act,

movement, introverted and shrouded.

o Mesomorph : Described as hard, triangular, athletically worked with all around

created muscles, thick and great posture; describe as somatonic, inclined

towards physical and chance taking; and being various, courage’s, assertive,

direct and overwhelming.

o Endomorph: Described as round, usually short and delicate with immature

muscles and experiencing issues losing weight; described as sociable, enjoying

food, people and affection; having moderate reactions; and being arranged to

lack of concern.

Traits of personality

Today, numerous scientists trust that they are five center personality traits. Proof of this

hypothesis has been developing for a long time, starting with the examination of D. W.

Fiske (1949) and later developed by different scientists including Norman (1967),

Smith (1967), Goldberg (1981), and McCrae and Costa (1987).

The "huge five" are general classifications of personality characteristics. While there is

a critical group of writing supporting this five-factor model of personality, scientists

don't generally concede to the correct marks for each measurement. The five personality

traits are:

2
o Openness: This trait features characteristics such as imagination & insight.

People who are high in this trait also tend to have broad range of interests, trend

to be more adventurous, focused on tackling new challenges and creative.

People low in this trait are often much more traditional and may struggle with

abstract thinking.

o Conscientiousness: This traits features characteristics organized, methodic,

and thoughtfulness, with good impulse control People that have a high degree

of conscientiousness are reliable and prompt. People low in this trait tend to

dislike structure and schedules, make messes and not take care of things.

o Extraversion: Extraversion is characterized by excitability, sociability,

talkativeness, assertiveness, and highest amount of emotional expressiveness.

Tend to gain energy in social situations. People who are low in extraversion (or

introverted) tend to be more reserved and have to expend energy in social

setting.

o Agreeableness: This personality dimensions includes attributes such as trust,

altruism, kindness, affection, other prosaically behaviors & tend to be more

cooperative while those low in this trait tend to be more competitive & even

manipulative.

o Neuroticism: Neuroticism is also sometime called emotional stability. This trait

is characterized by sadness, moodiness, and emotional instability. Traits include

being moody and tense. Those who are low in this trait tend to be more stable

and emotionally resilient.

3

3. Body

3.1 Explanation of My Favorite Personality

In the event that you live with marginal identity issue, you may have run over the

expression "most loved individual/personality”. Despite the fact that the idea of having

a most loved personality is one commonplace to many individuals in the marginal

identity issue group. In the same way my favorite personality is Dr.Prabhat kumar. I

used to love him, I am loving him and shall love him through all my life.

Dr.Prabhat kumar is a professional doctor as well as director of Sai Krishna Medical

foundation and Prime PG Nepal (Medical Entrance Preparation Institute). Dr.Prabhat

kumar was born in Birgunj, Nepal in 1985. He has been hailed by government of Nepal

as well as different part of people of Nepal, China, India & Bangladesh. He is one of

the best surgeons of Nepal who passed primary school as well as higher secondary

school from remote area of Birgunj and received MBBS degree from top Government

University of Republican of China named “China Three George University” under

scholarship by Government of Nepal. He passed MD (Doctorate in Medicine) from

AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi, India) under scholarship

scheme of Indian Government given to Nepal. He has a daughter and wife who is

Aurvedic doctor.

4
I first met Dr. Prabhat kumar in his Institute when I was there for Medical Entrance

preparation. He is a character model of my career. He supports me to understand and

study better .Whenever I encounter him and attend his arguments, I will get a durable

feeling that I can do everything in my life. So he is my favorite person and my

inspiration.

3.2 Connection between traits and types

Every person has their unique personality in the same way my favorite personality

Dr.Prabhat kumar has an openness to experience quality as well as he is broad minded.

He is creative and listen himself, like to have new experience. He is also an extrovert

person who shows more concern towards surrounding, love to interact with surrounding

people. He didn’t spend their time alone but like to epicenter of social work or social

meeting as well as parties. He likes to stay in group and dislike to staying alone.

3.3 Factors of inspiration

He is my idol and I regard him most. It is because when I was preparing for medical

entrance he used to take classes as motivational speaker. Throughout this I met him a

number of time and I saw his absorption and functioning sprits towards their goal which

inspire me. He is open minded without negativity, he likes to interact with people

around them.

I saw his creativity and discipline which he execute on himself to have their goal

complete. His openness and hardworking motivate everyone. He generally use to say

that FAIL does not means fail it means “First Attempt in Learning.” If you fail in

one work it does not mean you fail from life. Due to this type of his motivational words

and well-disciplined behavior as well as his dedication towards goal achievement I

regard him most.

5
3.4 Story of inspiration

There are many stories include my role model Dr. Prabhat Kumar and me. Every

encounter I have with him is always filled with inspiration and motivation. But the most

motivated one that I always remember whenever I encounter with problems that is

described below. One day it was on the entrance day for Kathmandu University (KU).

All the student of Dr. Prabhat and he himself was present in the bus when we were

going for entrance exam. I was very nervous than others present there as my whole

carrier was depended on it and I had prepared for that exam for a whole year. So, it was

natural that I was very scared and nervous. Then Dr. Prabhat noticed me being nervous,

then he came and sat beside me in the bus. Then he started a simple conversation to

make me feel ease, but looking at my circumstances I was very scared. He then said me

one thing which always echoes inside my mind. Jibachh, I know it’s natural for you to

be nervous and scared, but I am going to tell you one think that always remember that

it’s not the end of your life. Sky is very big, there are several opportunities, if you passed

the exam then its good but if you fail then don’t think that u ruined you life and all the

time you practiced for exam. As you know that the knowledge you have gained will

always benefit you in your life. Any experience or knowledge you gain is not going to

be waste just because of one exam. Just think that whatever happens, happens for good

and in future there will be various opportunities best than this one for which you are

capable of. Then his words acted as magical spell and all my nervousness were gone

and I was back to my normal self but little bit more excited. From that day on whenever

I encounter any difficulties and feel nervous I remember his words and then all my

nervousness is gone. That is the story of mine with my favorite personality who with

just some words change my way of thinking and made me better person.

6
4. Findings

4.1 Interview:

As it was my first interview I was nervous. I did not had any idea how to deal with it,

as he is my inspiration. I was excited too thinking about taking his interview, the person

whom I had look after my whole life. When I entered the room he welcomed with a

warm smile and a greeting as well. I had collected enough resources and done enough

research about taking the interview and when I entered the room I forgot all the ideas

that I had collected about taking interview. Our interview was based on verbal

communication. There was no disturbance as he had already informed his receptionist

to not disturb him for some time. I even forgot to make notes of what he was saying,

and when I think now it was the best because all his answers were recorded in my mind.

4.2 Experience on interview:

As I mentioned earlier I was too nervous and excited in the beginning. During the

interview I did not felt any nervousness, it was like having friendly conversation with

my elderly brother. I was just more and more excited to know more about his life, his

struggle and some of the stories related to medical field. We had the cup of tea together

had the entertaining interview. If there was any limitation of the interview it was jus the

time as I could not take more of his time which I completely understand. Now, when I

think about interview, it turned from the boring interviews I had seen on TV to the best

moment of my life. From this interview I got to experience how it feels to take interview

and I learned a lot about how to take interview in my upcoming days. This experience

made my confidence higher and I also got to learn some important tips about handling

7
different situations. I think that once in a while it is best to have conversation with

famous personalities as we go to learn more than from any text book.

8
5. Conclusion:

I move toward to conclude that, personality plays a dynamic role in the life of people.

Every separate have its own behavior and body structure that’s called personality. You

should always have one of the gratitude in your life to get motivated and also to be

succeed so do I.

Really, I feel proud to tell Dr.Prabhat Kumar is my idol because he is the one who has

influenced and motivated me in every way he can do. As I have already shared one of

the story above about how he changed my life and way of thinking towards difficulties

and had helped me and lead me towards right path. So, he is “My favorite personality,

My Inspiration.”
