Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in Science VII

I. Objectives
At the end of 60-minute discussion, the students should be able to:
 determine the different major organs present in an organism;
 give the function of organ system;
 enumerate the major organ systems present in an organism; and
 state the importance of organs in our life.
II. Subject Matter

Concepts:

Brain - it is the control center of the body.


Skin- it is the outer covering which protects delicate body parts.
Heart- is the responsible for pumping the blood.
Stomach- it is responsible in breaking of protein.
Lungs- it is responsible for our breathing through obtaining oxygen and getting
rid of carbon dioxide.
Pancreas- it is responsible for controlling blood sugar level.
Spleen- it is largest lymphatic organ and responsible in producing white blood
cells and it recycles the blood.
Kidneys - it helps to remove excess waste from bloodstream.
Bladders- it serves as temporary storage point for urine.

C. Lesson Proper

“Dialogue of the organs”. Using the dialogue flashed on the screen, there
are groups that who will read each dialogue. Then the teacher will ask few
questions at a particular part of the dialogue.

“The human’s major organs”

Brain : Ha Ha Ha! Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself to


you, I am the control center of the human body. My color looks like a
pinkish cheeks. I can control all the internal processes happening inside
the body I considered myself as a superior to all organs because I am
located at the top of the body, which is the head.

- What is the function of the brain?


- What is the location of the brain?
- What does the color of the brain looks like?

Skin : Oh my, Oh my G! Hello Everyone, I am skin! I can give protection


to whole body and I am the largest organ in terms of area.

- What is the function of the skin?


- What is unique about the skin?

Heart: ehem! Hi everybody! I want you to know my purpose in your


body, by the way I am the main pumping mechanism of your body. I am
responsible for pumping the blood in order to circulate your blood very
well.

- What is the function of heart?


- What organ system does heart belongs to?

Stomach: Pluk! Pluk!! Pluk!!! Hi, I want to introduce myself to you. I am


stomach, I am responsible in digesting protein like meat and egg.

- What is the function of stomach in our body?

Lungs: Psssssst! Hi we are lungs! We are responsible for your breathing.


Without us, you are not able to breath fresh air and also you are no longer
to live because we are very significant in the body.

-What is the function of lungs to our body?

Pancreas: Ahu! Ahu! I think that you are not familiar with me. I am
responsible in reducing and increasing blood sugar levels in our body.

- What is the significant role of pancreas to our body?

Spleen: Iwww! Iwww! Hello everyone, I want to formally introduce


myself to you. I am spleen, I am responsible in production and removing
of red blood cells in our body! And I am located near the stomach.
- What is the location of spleen in our body?
- What is the function of spleen?

Kidneys: Zip! Zip!! Zip!!! Psssh! Hi, let me discuss what is my function
in your body. I am kidney and I am responsible in removing excess waste
in your bloodstream and I don’t want salty food because that kind of food
can make me weak.

- What is the function of kidneys to our body?

Bladder: I have no words in introducing myself because I am just a


storage of waste in your body but don’t underestimate my potentials
because without me, your waste inside your body will spread to different
parts.

- What is the function of bladder in our body?


- What will happen in your body if there is no bladder?

Game Title: “Pick the Floor!”


Game Mechanics: The teacher will dictate a question with four choices.
There will be designated choices or spot in front of the classroom. Students
will pick a spot in response to their choice.
