LOCAL SERVICES TREND TRACKER: TRENDS IN ONLINE SEARCH FOR AC SERVICES

Extreme heat wave drives Tier-II, Tier-III cities search online for Ac
services.
India, Chennai May xx, 2019: A study undertaken by Sulekha.com, India’s largest digital platform for
local services has revealed a 2X increase in online searches for Ac services this Summer.

This study is based on visits and searches by nearly 25,000 consumers that landed on Sulekha.com in the
last month (April 2019), across Tier-II, Tier-III cities.
Key findings of the study:

- Tier-II cities have alone have raised 12,000+ Ac service request in the last month. This is an
increase of 105% over similar period of last year. Some cities that are leading with requests are
Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore.
- Tier-III have raised more service requests compared to Tier-II cities. Tier-III cities have raised
14,000+ Ac service request in the last month. This is an increase of 72% over similar period of
last year. Some cities that are leading with requests are Madurai, Thane, Hooghly, Kanpur, Pimpri
Chinchwad.
- Metros have registered a 37% increase in AC service requests
- Consumers are willing to spend more than 500 on an average for AC services
- Local Ac technicians’ contractors are not able to meet the demand due to heat and shortage of
manpower. Hence, consumers are increasingly looking for digitally reviewed experts
- Consumers are willing to consider 3 to 4 quotes before deciding on a service provider
