Summer

Organizing Program
Internship Description

The Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy (CFFE) is seeking smart, energetic and hard
working student interns committed to making a difference as part of a strategic advocacy
campaign. An internship with CFFE is a great hands-on opportunity to learn about effective
social change making.

Job Description
CFFE currently is seeking up to three summer interns to help with the following projects:

• Building our base of support: Hone your ability to share a compelling message with the
public and help us broaden our connections and engage more New Hampshire people in
our campaign through door to door canvassing, street canvassing, petition gathering
and tabling at local farmer’s markets, festivals and community events.

• Story sharing: Interview and accurately record individuals with compelling stories
related to the CFFE agenda in order to help lawmakers learn how policy initiatives could
help real people throughout the state. Whether it’s a parent who had to return to work
two weeks after having a baby because they lacked paid family and medical leave, a
family able to qualify for child care assistance which helped parents stay in the
workforce, or someone struggling to balance multiple part-time jobs at minimum wage
just to get by, many people in our state have compelling stories about the issues our
campaign is addressing.

• Event Planning: Participate in planning and executing our 2019 presidential primary
roundtable series.

All interns will be responsible for participating in regular staff meetings and for contributing to
campaign events and activities. Interns may also receive training and experience using widely
used web based tools including our contact database and the voter file.

Who Are We Looking For?
• Proven leaders in their communities committed to economic and social justice;
• Students from any major with a demonstrated interest in grassroots social change, issue
advocacy and/or community organizing;
• Effective communicators able to relate to and work with people from all different political,
social and economic backgrounds.

The CFFE Internship program is offering placement for 2019 summer session (mid May-mid
August). We offer full or part-time internships with a flexible but consistent schedule that
meets the needs of successful applicants. Interns must be motivated, dependable and
comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and will report to and work
closely with campaign staff.
