My First Robotic Car

Throughout my high school career there have been many things I have been involved in.

However, there is one accomplishment which I am proud of due to the all the hours, work, and

effort put into the project. The accomplishment in which I take the most pride in is in the

completion of a robot.

Through building my first robot I had to take into account a variety of things, such as the

had design of the robot. I also had to implement real life applications. For example, designing the

robot too heavy or too tall my cause it to have too much weight and it will not run or it will be

too tall and it’ll fall over. This is just some of the various aspects that you have to take into

account when designing it.

The first robot I ever built was a car, which involved many hours of programming to

make it function. I would have to write a long code to do a certain function and at times it would

be frustrating because since it was my first project ever I would sometimes get the code wrong

and would have to start that strand of code all over again. Whenever I wouldn’t understand how

to do something after trying it myself, first. I would go to Youtube and look up how to complete

the code so I would have an idea on how to do it.

The feeling of when I accomplished my project was very rewarding, because after many

hours per day of coding while having many errors and having to fix a lot of code strands, my

project was finally able to drive itself and perform the tasks it was meant to do. My

accomplishments are very important to me because I would always love to design and build

things with things such as legos. However, with programming I had to learn a whole new

language to be able to continue the process of designing my project.

I am glad I took the challenge to take on this new project, which I had no previous

knowledge about. My class did not use this programming language so I had to learn it by myself

when we were asked to create a something. Moreover, my teacher did not know that language so

I had no help at all. I am proud of myself for being able to complete this project with no help at

all beside a couple of Youtube videos.
