The Effect of ICT in our Daily Life

ICT is important in people’s lives and it is expected that this trend will continue, to the
extent that ICT literacy will become a functional requirement for people’s work, social and
personal lives. Communication technology has made communication a lot more efficient in
today’s society. A range of technology is used for gathering, retrieving, storing, processing and
transmitting information. This includes computer, mobile phones, the internet, etc. It pays to
communicate technology rather than depending on slower means such as mail delivery. Even
though it isn’t expensive to post a letter, the actual cost is perhaps misplaced letters and lost of
time. However there is a huge lack of interpersonal skills and face to face communication.
When you text or e-mail, there is no vocal tone and you can’t see facial expressions. As
such, it is very easy to misread the message that might be intended to be sarcastic or maybe
not understand the importance of it. This can lead to major misunderstandings. It can also lead
to laziness, for example, instead of walking over to someone in the same room as you to strike
up a conversation you would send an instant message via facebook or text. Technology is now
the forefront of the modern world in creating new jobs, innovations and networking sites to
allow individuals to connect globally. While information technology created jobs, it has also
caused lack of job security in creating. Because we use technology a lot in workplace and it is
constantly changing and updating some people may struggle to use it and is therefore not avail
of jobs. Some people should be worried about their privacy because of hacking or mobile signal
interception. Ite has negative effects likes decreased social relations, laziness and
unemployment.In communication , the disadvatages are: People that don't know you will lie to
you and try to get you to give over your personal details like home location ,phone number and
etc. People before social media use to send letters ti each other and talk face to face.
ICT has so many advantages in the learning and teaching process. Classroom
management is one of them that gained benefits from ICT. The existence of several sorts of ICT
tools gives the class other support of learning especially in terms of visual and auditory learning.
Thus the definition of classroom management “Content management occurs when teachers
manage space, materials, equipment, the movement of people, and lessons that are part of a
curriculum or program of studies” (Froyen & Iverson, 1999, p. 128). This managing will lead to
organizing student’s behavior. You can contact with friends and family over the internet and
there are many different types of communication like Twitter and Youtube can be a type of
communication.In our home life, ICT is in every room in our house from the TV to the washing
machine. We use ICT more than you think its used it almost everything we do at home. The way
we deal with problems at home has changed for example if we have an illness you can get
diagnoswd from your home by searching your Symptoms on thethe internet. Life has changed
because you can find a machine that speeds up all most everything from housework to
homework.
 Technology is a good thing, and that is has its advantages, but that with each
technological element we gain disadvantages as well as advantages, and many times those
disadvantages are overlooked by technology users.
