AN ESSAY
I AM CALLED TO BE A WITNESS
TO THE WORD

The world that we live in today
is very diverse and every day we
are exposed to multiple cultures
and different perspectives. An
interesting question in this
modern world that one may ask
himself is: “What can I do to
become a Witness to the Word?”
Being a Witness to the Word is
one of the primary missions that
Christ has instilled upon us. It our
duty as Christians to live out the
Lord’s loving mission to embrace
universality and preach the Good
News.
Our mission as witnesses starts
with understanding what being a
witness means. Before we can call
ourselves true witnesses to the
Word, we have to examine
ourselves if we have truly
connected to the message of
Joseph Euben B.

Christ which is love. When one
understands that our mission in
this world is rooted in love, we can
flourish and truly live out God’s
Gospel.
Throughout, our ReEd30
course, I have learned that being a
Witness to the Word isn’t limited
to being a missionary that has to
travel around the world to
evangelize. Instead, we can be
missionaries of our own in our own
creative and little ways.
I as a Carolinian, am called to be
a witness to the Word. Knowing
that I can be a witness in many
ways, I am happy to really help out
and spread God’s universal
message of love to others. I can be
a witness to the Word in many
aspects of my life: being a son, a
student, a citizen, and a human
being.
First off, as a son, I can become
a witness by giving honor to my
parents. I can do this by doing my
responsibilities at home like
helping in the laundry and the
dishes. I can also be witness by
being the
ear who

As a student, I can be a witness

studies, and encouraging others to
do good in theirs too. I can start off
by using my talents and skills
whenever they are required. I can
also do this by not submitting
works that are mediocre and try
hard to study when an exam is
coming.
As a citizen, I can be a witness
by exercising my civil rights and
become a responsible voter. This
entails awareness and
involvement especially in which
candidates to choose and what
they represent. Vouching for
candidates that advocate for the
betterment of Filipino lives and
increasing awareness can be a
way I could be a witness.
Lastly, as a human being, I can
become a witness by being more
open to
other
Christians to live culture and
accepting
towards
those who
are of
different
cultures
and practices than me. Just by
being more open, gives me a
chance to spread the love of God
and help this message be
transmitted to other cultures.
All that I have mentioned are
just a few of the ways that I am
called to be a witness to the Word.
As I journey through my life, I wish
to discover more and more ways
which I can be able to live out
being a Witness to the Word and
spread God’s message of love and
peace.
