SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE III

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. Name plants and
b. identify the parts of a plant.
Materials: pictures of animals and pictures of different gardens

II. PROCEDURE:
A. Review
Show some pictures of animals and let the pupils name them.
Ask. Are animals important to us? Why?
B. Motivation / Presentation
Show some pictures of different garden in school if the pupils cannot go to the garden.
Ask the following questions:
1. What do you see in the picture?

2. What can we see in the garden?


3. What are some of the plants that grow in our school?
4. What are some of the plants grow in your home?
C. Lesson Proper
Let the pupils do the activity. Refer to LM, Activity 1
What are the Parts of a Plant?
Discussion:
1. Explain the concepts by asking the following:
^ Which part of the plant grow downward into the ground? ( The root)

^ What is the plant part where you see leaves and flowers grow from? Where do you
see it in a plant? ( The stem. It is above the ground)
^What are the plant parts that grow from the stem? Will you describe them? (The leaf.
The leaves are flat and green.)
^What is the plant part that develops into the tomato fruit?( The flower)

III. Generalization
What are the parts of a plant? ( Plants have different parts: root, stem, leaf, flower and fruit)

IV. Assessment:
Label the parts of the plants.

V. Assignment:
Draw your favorite plant and label each part.
