1 G. - Colonel Stillman of Delta Green?

S. - If you’re asking that question then you already know quite a lot don’t you.

1 G. - I apologize, just getting it down for the record, you know how these go.

S. - Yes, I’m sorry, just not in the mood to be doing all this questioning.

G. - Neither am I, it’s just one of those things we have to get through, don’t we? I’ll start
1

with your division. Who were they?

CO5651498

S. - I was intelligence. To as to who ‘they’ were, I don’t know. I was put upon the group
because I knew things that I wasn't supposed to. The only leader that I have met with is
Commander Cook. The rest of the lot just supposedly exist.

2 G. - Who was Commander Cook?

3 G. - What were some of those things Colonel?

CO5651498
S. - Innsmouth, Karotechia, the sort. The Germans were trying to get those things from the
sea on their side after the reports of Innsmouth got out. As for Karotechia, that was the
German’s division of Delta Green. Except, with Karotechia, they wanted to contact those
things. It was our job to stop them. I’m just repeating information, aren’t I?
G. - That’s the whole point of this interview Colonel. What are those “things” that you
4

speak of?

S. - There’s a lot of things that exist but at Fécamp they were invisible eviscerates and
at Innsmouth, they were “bipedal fish humanoids.”

G. - Surely the Germans didn’t think they could use them as weapons, did they?
5

S. - The Germans thought that they could and even had a super weapon being developed at
Naudabaum Castle. They put this under the guise of Aktion Götterdamnerung, but we
luckily had an inside man at Naudabaum. He altered the little bibles that the Germans
carry on themselves to call that ritual.

6 G. - What do you mean by ritual?

S. - There is a language. We don't speak it. We as in the human species, but they do. The
things that exist outside our world do, and when we speak enough of that abyssal
language there is a crossover, there's a calling of things that don't belong here.
CO5651499

7 G. - And you’re saying that you wholeheartedly believe in these things?

S. - There is no doubt in my mind what is real. It is fortunate that I do not know too much.
Knowing of them rather than knowing what they are has spared me. Commander Cook has
provided files after file of people going insane after knowing. I am one of the fortunate
ones.

G. - If people that know of these things end up going ‘insane’, how does Delta Green remain
8

a squadron?

S. - By necessity. Once you know about it, you don’t have a choice. You have to go. You have
to do something. How could you live with yourself knowing that people are trying to pull
them into our reality?

G. - I scarcely believe I could Colonel. You commented on the fact that once you learned
9

about these things, you felt compelled to join when was your first encounter?

S. - World War II. The climbing of the ranks lead me to learn more than
I should have. I heard whispers, I saw strange insignias and I learned too much.
Naturally, they added me to Delta Green.
CO5651499
10 G. - I see. Now that you have returned home, what are you going to do now?

S. - What Delta Green doesn’t tell you is that you never really go off duty. You see them in
the shadows, you see the life drain from people’s eyes, your mind becomes keen of the
world that is outside our own. The holes that existed beforehand as invisible are now
empty spaces in our day to day lives that you demand to be full. I don’t know what I’m
going to do, but I promise you that I won’t be working a nine-to-five job. I will be what I
am to always be: a soldier of Delta Green.

10 G. - Well, Colonel, I believe we’re done here. Thank you for being so cooperative.

S. - Who are you anyways? If you know about Delta Green and have an inkling of any of
this, why are you here, asking more questions?
G. - I don’t ask any more questions than I have to Colonel.

G. - Good evening Tipler. I don’t suppose you’re going to be a talkative one. You never
1

were from what I gathered. Before you wonder if you know me, you don’t, and as you know
from experience, knowing things isn’t the best for your health. I’ll cut down to the chase,
you’ll be instituted into Death Row very soon, but talking will get you a better cell, and
possibly, better help. I know you didn’t do it on your own knowledge, but I guess that’s a
good question, did you kill those people?

T. - Yes.

1 G. - Why did you kill those people Tipler?

T. - They needed to be saved. They, they didn’t know what was coming. I had to do it, but I
couldn’t end it. I couldn’t-

G. - No need to elaborate further. I understand. It’s a very common proponent in things

2

like this. What exactly was coming, Tipler?

T. - I don’t know what you mean.

CO5651501
G. - Tell me what you were saving them from, I think that question was pretty simple
2

Tipler.

T. - You, you don’t want to know. I can’t tell you, I can’t, I can’-

G. - Lieutenant Arvin Tipler of the Delta Green Division in Cambodia, part of the
2

Cambodian Temple raid? Is that who you are?

T. - How, how did you learn this? Who told you?

G. - Unfortunately, I am the one asking the questions but now that you know that I know
2

quite a bit, let’s continue this conversation. I shall repeat the question, what was
coming from the temple?

T. - The-the shadows. At the temple, the Americans were trying to use them, they killed
that kid, and, I don’t know. Those things, they just, they were released. The arm from the
temple, the dark thing inside of it, I don’t know what they are, but it’s not human. I see
them when I look at people, I see them when I sleep, I can’t get rid of them.

3 G. - How did this temple get opened up?

T. - The Americans had a ritual. We didn’t know what we were getting into but Command
told us to eliminate and we didn’t ask any questions.

G. - Who was a part of your squadron that participated in this raid on the Cambodian
4

temple?

T. - Lupus and Poe.

4 G. - Who were Lupus and Poe?

T. - They were, they were just part of Delta Green. Lupus had been part of many tours
before, participated in World War II, but, but Poe, I don’t know. I never questioned
Command. I couldn’t.

4 G. - How did you feel about them?

T. - I didn’t like any of them. Lupus was, a terrible person. Lupus did things that I can
never unsee, and can never reimagine. Doing so would uhm…

4 G. - What about Poe?

T. - Poe was the intelligence officer. He kept Lupus and me in check, and on a need to know
basis. I much preferred this.

CO5651502
G. - So, Poe, Lupus, and yourself were to destroy this Cambodian Temple. Did you know why?
5

T. - There was a solar eclipse that was going to happen in the next two days. All Poe told
me was that we needed to get rid of it immediately.

G. - Did you know why there were Americans on the temple?

5

T. - No. Poe told me I wasn’t cleared for that.

G. - To recap, you were deployed to Cambodia, put into Delta Green, and then this was your
6

first mission dealing with things beyond our world?

T. - Yes. This was my first real encounter.

6 G. - Did you encounter those things before, or after you the temple opened up.

T. - We discovered a child who was spying on us the night day we were scouting out the
area. After we released him, the Americans tied him up to a pole and used his as a catalyst
for whatever those, those things were.

7 G. - And your team successfully bombed the temple and completed the mission.

T. - We were captured, but the B-52s knew our position. The Americans that captured us
were killed, and we were off the tour. I then came back home.

8 G. - Do you know what happened to Lupus and Poe after the tour?

T. - No. I think Poe still served, maybe Lupus too, but I went home.

G. - This temple, this outside world, you think it has some sort of connection to the
9

world at home? Is that why you killed all those people?

T. - I don’t know what I know, but I was just, I had to. I don’t know why, but I had, you have
to believe me.
G. - I know. There’s much to comprehend when it comes to these things. Unfortunately, we
10

cannot remain quiet about this ordeal. It’s too public to cover up. You killed an entire
church of people. I have one last question before we find ourselves finished for today
Tipler. You pick up your daughter Mindy, correct?

T. - I did.

G. - When you picked her up, you killed that teacher. What did you see when you killed
10

them?
CO5651503
T. - Their eyes, they, they were like those things.

G. - Thank you, Tipler. Have a wonderful evening.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN AUDIO ANALYZATION BY UNKNOWN BETWEEN G. AND UNKNOWN SPECIMEN.

*BUZZING CAN BE HEARD IN THE BACKGROUND. FLIES MAY BE PRESENT AND THE CLICK OF TAPE
RECORDER CAN BE HEARD AS THE AUDIO STARTS. HEAVY BREATHING IS HEARD ON THE OTHER SIDE
AS WELL AS A DISRUPTIVE FREQUENCY THAT PLAYS AT INTERVALS UNDETERMINABLE.*

G. - I find myself following the thing that followed Ted. I’ve finally discovered where it
1

ended up going. I think-

*THERE IS A QUICK CUT OF THE AUDIO AND GRUNTING HEARD.*

G. - It’s after me. It knows that I’m after Ted, it knows that I’m here.
1

*A DISTORTION IN THE AUDIO CAN BE HEARD. A HARD HIT IS HEARD AND THE UNKNOWN SPECIMEN
IS HEARD.*

U.S. - Son. Has spoken. Why pursue? Leave.

G. - Our agent has been killed, did you think you could just get away? You’re going to be
1

hunted to the edge of this earth you alien abomination.

CO5651505
U.S. - No. To ‘hunt’ is to assume I am present.

G. - What are you?

1

U.S. - We are nothing. We are everything that is made up for in the darkness beyond your
world. We are nothing. We are more than you, yet, you are nothing.
G. - You were there when Ted found the truth, you were afraid of him passing it on, how
2

can you say you are nothing?

U.S - Other Ted Gallatins will assume the same thing. Your body cannot comprehend what is
us.

G. - I’m quite sure I can. You’re a creature that exists between our world and the next. You
3

worship Yog-Sothoth, you kill my people when they get too close, you’re afraid. Admit it!

U.S - ‘Afraid’ is a designation of something we cannot perceive. We don’t know why we kill.
We don’t know why you kill. Yog-Sothoth is wrong.

4 G. - Who is Yog-Sothoth to you?

U.S - Yog-Sothoth is what Ted Gallatins think it is. We are Yog-Sothoth. The intersection
of Time and Space.

G. - Who is ‘we’?
5

U.S - We are all those that you hear of. We create ‘monsters’ feed on your dreams, sleep in
our crypt and watch as you plea for us.

*THE BUZZING HEARD IN THE BACKGROUND BREAKS THE AUDIO AND A SCREAM CAN BE HEARD FROM
G. THE AUDIO RECORDING OPENS BACK AFTER !5.48 MINUTES PASS.*

G. - It’s got Ted. I won’t be making it back, I’ll have to discard this recording to my pager.
5

Cook, I’ve found Yog-Sothoth I repeat, Yog-Sothoth is real.

U.S - Running is futile. You are now an instrument of our grander plans.

6 G. - What are those plans Yog-Sothoth?

U.S - Your mind could not understand our plans. You rarely exist as an awareness now,
telling you would leave you a nonviable specimen.

7 G. - So you need me then? You need my people?

U.S. - No. We do not need you. We just choose to use you for convenience.
CO5651506
G. - Your elder signs tell of the opening of the bridge, if you didn’t need us, why would
8

you open the bridge?

U.S - The false words of those who believe to understand us are fake. They know not of the
grander plan. All of you will be as Agent Ted Gallatin is.

*GUNSHOTS ARE HEARD OVER THE AUDIO.*

9 G. - What did you do to Ted?

U.S. - Ted is us. An extension into our world. Useful more than any other Agent Ted
Gallatin.
G. - We he’d be more useful to you than any of us, why don’t you just come and kill us all?
10

What’s the point of letting us live on?

U.S. - Your extension into the world that you think exists is in fact, void. We do not kill
you because we are indifferent. Not malign.

*A GUNSHOT IS HEARD ONE LAST TIME AS A GRUNT IS HEARD OVER THE RECORDING. THE
TUMBLING OF THE RECORDING DEVICE CAN BE HEARD AND G.’S VOICE IS HEARD IN THE
DISTANCE.*

G. - Cook, see to it that this recording is analyzed.

10

U.S. - All you know. Have known. Will know. Is ours. You think that ‘Cook’ will take the
recording. You think someone will find it. We will leave it here. We do not care. We simply
are

*A FINAL SCREAM CAN BE HEARD AS CRUNCHING ENSUES. THE DISTORTION OF THE AUDIO PLAYS
AGAIN AND FOOTSTEPS CAN BE HEARD AS THE AUDIO ENDS.*

Explanation Paragraphs
Interview One
The first interview follows Colonel Stillman, formerly Major
Stillman from the short story, Night And Water. The book, Delta Green:
Tales from Failed Anatomies,” is a collection of stories that follow a
military squadron known as Delta Green. Delta Green is, most simply, a
squadron that investigates Eldritch Horrors that cross over into our
plane of existence. These stories all deal with the Cthulhu mythos in some
way shape or form, and cause for an overarching storyline woven between
each short story. Night and Water, one of my favorites, follows Stillman’s
expedition towards a POW camp near the end of World War II. During this
story Stillman speaks with an SS officer about the German’s plans to call
the Eldritch things and Stillman’s destruction of a weapon at Fécamp. The
interview questions themself are much like the book, a story created over
several short stories. The questions build backstory to what I read
inherently, detailing the mission and what exactly Delta Green is, while
also detailing the character known as ‘G.’ which I based upon myself at
first but then decided to weave it into a story.
Interview Two
The second interview is my least favorite interview that I wrote, but
it follows the best story. The true insanity in finding these eldritch
things and what they can do to normal human beings is a common theme
throughout all of these short stories, and Agent Arvin Tipler goes to the
extremes when it comes to this. The questions reveal the story and my
interpretation of how Tipler thought about what he was doing when he was
killing those people in the church and the teacher. In the story itself, it
gives ambiguity to if what Tipler was doing was complete inhuman or if he
was truly turned evil. I tried to replicate this effect in my writing by
writing Tipler as a scared and frail image of himself.

Interview Three
The third interview is with the UNKNOWN SPECIMEN. The UNKNOWN
SPECIMEN is the first character or idea in the novel that Ted Gallatin
interacts with. The unique form of dialogue and outlook on the world that
the creature has make it one of the most interesting thing to interview
and finish the story that I wove into all the interviews. I think dialogue
with questions, rather than interviews is better term for all of them, but I
figured it was more interesting to do it this way anyways. The UNKNOWN
SPECIMEN is more of a theme rather than a character. The author, Robin D.
Laws, introduces this foreword into the short stories to explain what
happens in the book, what has happened, and what will happen after Ted
Gallatin’s death. The UNKNOWN SPECIMEN also refers to the human race as
toher Ted Gallatin’s in an effort from the author to space itself further in
an abstract way from the human species.

Overall Explanation
The small story that I have created through these interviews is a
character known as G. which is time after time been involved in these
strange cases. For some reason G. has been employed or tasked with
interviewing these people that have suffered traumatizing experiences,
all leading up to G’s pursuit to save Ted Gallatin, but ultimately being
too late.
