There is no partition of life that can be called the second half of life. The theory that you are
referring to says that life events and the overall results change with time due to maturity and
shift in priorities. Now, this is interpreted in several ways.

The Houses:

The first house onward is the life of the individual and 12th is the final stage or salvation.
Depending on how the strength is distributed, that portion of life goes best. For example, if
lagna, 2nd, 3rd and 4th are strongest, the first quarter of life goes best. If the 12th house is
weak, the last fraction of life (1/12th) goes in suffering. Likewise, if the lagna is afflicted,
childhood is difficult. Many are of the opinion that the counting is reversed for even sign.
Which is to say, for odd signs, lagna is the birth, second toddler and so on till twelfth being
death; while for even signs, lagna is birth, twelfth is toddler, eleventh is childhood, and so
on till 2nd as death.

The Divisions:

If Lagna is stroger, the stage up to stability of life (settlement in marriage) goes better. If
navamsha is stronger, the phase of life after it goes better.

The Moon:

Lagna denotes the physique, Moon the mind. Lagna plays a role till the body grows and
develops. Moon takes rein when the mind dominates life instead of body. Which is to say,
beyond 30 when the body stops growing physically, Moonsign becomes more important. If
the Moon sign is stronger, life improves.
The Luminaries:

Lagna is the physical self, Moon the mental self and Sun the spiritual self. If lagna is
strongest, first 1/3rd is the best. If Moon is strongest, 2nd fraction is the best. If Sun, then
the third.

The Planetary Ages:

Each planet has a maturity age, and based on it the results are obtained. Jupiter matures at
16, Sun at 21, Moon at 24, Venus 25, Mars 28, Mercury 32, Saturn 36, Rahu 42 and Ketu 48.
Results of the planet and its strength/weakness are observed.

Planetary Significations:

Moon is the youngest planet, hence it rules childhood. Mercury denotes education and rules
the schooling phase. Mars and Venus rule the adolescence and growth phases. Sun rules the
professional struggle and initial career building years, Jupiter rules maturity and middle
life. Saturn rules old age and suffering.

Nadi principle:

A man typically lives for 6–7 cycles of Jupiter or 72–84 years. Hence, indications of change
such as exchange, contradictory influences, etc. overturn after three cycles of Jupiter or 36
years.
