My second year of high school has been a huge step up from freshman year. I have faced many struggles this year ,sometimes, I have almost wanted to give up. I have had times I didn’t have time to do my assignments or didn't even do my work. I have also help someone cheat on their Chemistry test and ended up getting caught with consequences of zeros on our test. Then there were times where I made my video games more important than my school work. With all these bad choices I have done have unfortunately gave me my first C letter grade on my transcript in one of my classes. For each struggle I had I still manage on moving forward and fixing them.I first made my school life and grades my number one priority besides my religion and family. I studied more on my free time and tried to make every second in my life count to learn new things. Next thing I have done was to dig deeper into all my work.I was usually brief with all my work but I needed to put more effort to make myself A letter grade worthy. I have learned a lot from this year, I worked harder and grew up a bit. I learned from a lot of mistakes I have made in the past like to never help someone by giving someone answers but by tutoring them so they can understand what they are doing. I have also learned how to manage my time and gained better study habits. And most importantly I learned that I work better when I am not around my close friends because I usually tend on talking more than working. Some people I like to thank for helping me during my sophomore year is my Avid teacher first. I usually don't stop and ask for help but when I do I never hesitate to ask Mrs Brewer she is smart, kind, and super cool. Secondly is my counselor Mrs Rodriguez I get to talk to her about anything and when I need something she can always find a way to help me out. Lastly is my football team, I can trust most of them we are all in the same game so whenever we need help someone on the team can help or everyone works together and finds out a solution. Im proud on how my grades have been lately I managed to get from an F from the beginning of this semester to an A+ and I also have an A right now in english which is one of my hardest subjects.I am proud on being on the AHS football team and being the MVP offensive lineman for sophomore year.I also am proud on getting bigger football has pushed us to stay fit and work out in the weight room and I don't regret it at all even if it causes me to get out of school until 5 pm everyday.I am proud on what good friends I have made this year and stayed with since the beginning of highschool. Now about Avid, I have been in avid for about 4 years now and it's been a big help for me. I love how they start making you do good habits like being organized, responsible, and taking good cornell notes. There is much more into it though, we also get tutors twice a week that can help with any class subject. Then the part I really like is being introduced to many different colleges and learning about them. With avid I have already planned my future on what college I want to apply for and what major I want to take. I have reviewed my API goals from avid and I have done everything I have put down for me.The only thing I have to work on is being more outgoing and make more friends around the school. Lastly,I want to work on joining more sports and not be afraid to try new things like joining track and the boys volleyball team. I will just have to update my goals and do them next year.
