SIMPLIFIED ISLAMIC QUIZ 300 Islamic Questions and answers for seekers of knowledge by Abubakr Amosa Ladi Ibraheem

PREFACE

All Praise be to Allaah, we praise Him, seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allaah
from the evils of our souls and evils of our deeds. One, whom Allaah guides, none can lead him astray,
and one whom He misguides, none can guide him. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship
except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) is His
servant and His messenger.

“Oh, you who believe! Fear Allaah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslim”. (Q3:102).

“O mankind! Fear your Lord who created you from singled person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He
created his wife (Hawah), and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allaah through
whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely,
Allaah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.” (Q4:1).

“O those who believe! Fear Allaah and say what is correct (always). He will direct you to do righteous
good and He will forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allaah and His messenger that is a great
achievement” (Q33:70-71).

The best of speech is the speech of Allah. That is The Book of Allah. The best of guidance is the guidance
of Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him), the worst of all matters are innovations (in
the din); and every newly invented matter (in the din) is an innovation, and every innovation is a
deviation, and every deviation leads to Hell-fire.

Welcome to Simplified Islamic Quiz, a book written to ease understanding of Islamic basic knowledge
while encouraging learners toward high levels of learning. This book is based on the teaching and
research experience and I hope that through this book, inshaa Allah, knowledge seekers will be able to
answer Islamic basic frequently asked questions correctly.

Originally, this book was written by me in Arabic and translated into English in 2012. Conceived as a
single Quiz with a grand total of 300 questions and answers; it was split up into six chapters with 50
questions and answers each. Each chapter has a theme of its own: the first chapter features Tawheed
(The Creed) followed by Quran, Hadith, Fiqh (Understanding of Religion), Seerah (Islamic Biography)
and Qisas (Islamic Stories) respectively.

Allaah says (Interpretation of the meaning): “Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been
from [any] other than Allaah, they would have found within it much contradiction.” Q4:82. Therefore, I
stand to be corrected if any error is noticed to improve subsequent edtitions.

Lastly, whatever written of truth and benefit is only due to Allaah’s Assistance and Guidance, and
whatever of error is of me alone. Allaah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength, may
He continue to guide me and you.

May Allaah grant us understanding of His religion and make this book beneficial to me and you Here,
in this world, and in the Hereafter.

Hulaifa. Allah's Apostle started by assuming Ihram for'Umra and Hajj. And
the people, too, performed the 'Umra and Hajj along with the Prophet. Some
of them brought the Hadi and drove it along with them, while the others did
not. So, when the Prophet arrived at Mecca he said to the people, "Whoever
among you has driven the Hadi, should not finish his Ihram till he completes
his Hajj. And whoever among you has not (driven) the Hadi with him,
should perform Tawaf of the Ka'ba and the Tawaf between Safa and Marwa,
then cut short his hair and finish his Ihram, and should later assume Ihram
for Hajj; but he must offer a Hadi (sacrifice); and if anyone cannot afford a
Hadi, he should fast for three days during the Hajj and seven days when he
returns home. The Prophet performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba on his arrival (at
Mecca); he touched the (Black Stone) corner first of all and then did Ramal
(fast walking with moving of the shoulders) during the first three rounds
round the Ka'ba, and during the last four rounds he walked. After finishing

Tawaf of the Ka'ba, he offered a two Rakat prayer at Maqam Ibrahim, and
after finishing the prayer he went to Safa and Marwa and performed seven
rounds of Tawaf between them and did not do any deed forbidden because
of Ihram, till he finished all the ceremonies of his Hajj and sacrificed his
Hadi on the day of Nahr (10th day of Dhul-Hijja). He then hastened
onwards (to Mecca) and performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba and then everything
that was forbidden because of Ihram became permissible. Those who took
and drove the Hadi with them did the same as Allah's Apostle did. Bukhari
