Week 7 – Project Lab

Abstract
The lab was intended to give the user hands on experience with VM creation, Linux and Nessus.
The user created a VM on their own machine and loaded it with a Linux platform (Ubuntu). The
user then utilized Nessus on this VM to scan their local area network.

Reflection:
Over the course of this lab I learned a few new and valuable skills. I had never created a Virtual

Machine on my own desktop and this was a great experience in doing so. I also have very limited

exposure with Linux and learning a bit about the Terminal application was excellent experience that I will

carry with me. The only difficult part of this lab was the different versions of Nessus and Ubuntu being

shown in the directions, they could use some updating.
