Writing Prompt

Nature often has a role in many myths. Write an essay analyzing the role of nature in ​both​ the
passage and the poem. Use evidence from ​both​ the passage and the poem to support your
response.

Nature has a big role in many passages and poems and it can be beautiful or it can be
horrible but in the passage Icarus and Daedalus and the poem Icarus nature is both. In the
passage the author wrote about a man and a young boy who are imprisoned in a tower but
managed to escape and nature had a big role in this because it not only have them the idea to
escaped but it also killed Icarus. In the poem nature also has a big role of also killing the boy but
made it to where he would not have done it any other way.
Furthermore, the role of nature is a beautiful thing. In this Icarus and Daedalus the
author rights ”At length, watching the seagulls in the air -the only creature that were sure of
liberty-he thought of a plan for himself and his young son Icarus”. The seagull helped Daedalus
come up with a way to escape. And in the passage the author also wrote “But when a great
wind filled their wings, and Icarus felt himself sustained,like s halcyon bird in the wind filled their
wings”. The author wrote this to demonstrate that he felt like a bird and it was beautiful.
In addition, to the nature being beautiful it is also a horrible thing, by killing
Icarus.According to the speaker in the passage Icarus and Daedalus Warmer and warmer grew
the air.Thode arms which had seemed to uphold him,relaxed. His wings wavered, dropped.”
The narrator stated this to show how nature melted the wax and Killed Icarus.According to the
speaker in the poem Icarus “It seemed such a strong solid type, but it melted away when things
got hot”. The author wrote this to show how the glue was strong but nature still seemed to met it
away.
