Meet Eden Bossombo
Not giving up was an option to the basketball player in high school.
Practicing, and playing basketball was easy
for Eden Bossombo, son of Jean-Claude Bossombo
since he was in Congo high school, now playing in
Dallas Texas for the past three years.
Being one of the tallest persons and a senior at
MacArthur high school helps Bossombo to be a good
basketball player. “Being tall lets people look up to
you, being 6’1 helps me to get in the paint easily”
Bossombo said.
Play basketball makes Eden happy on his free time. “If
I would have to play three games in a row, I would play
them with the heart”
Bossombo said.

heart sweat and blood is
the key to be successful in
games” Bossombo said.
Not everything is about
basketball, he also
interests about graphic
design, because he likes to create new things, another
thing he is interested about is photography, because
pictures now are an important part of social media,
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of
loving” Bossombo said.
His parents motivate him because they have done a lot
of things to help him to improve and get better; also,
because his parents gave him the education that they
so far not only in school, but as a person with values,
responsibility, and honesty, could have. “The most
beautiful thing in this world is to see my parents smile
at me, for what I have done so far, I will make them
feel so proud of their son” Bossombo said.
He feels blessed because he is good at mathematics
since is one of his greatest strength academically, he
remembers his childhood that when he was at home
the only homework that he worked on, was math,
because he was passionate about numbers, as a kid
with toys, “because without math, there’s nothing you
can do” Bossombo said.
On his basketball practices he likes to listen to Hip Hop
because that genre makes him relax and having
background music improve focus
on the tasks that he must do, by
providing motivation and
improving mood, “without music,
life would be a mistake”
Bossombo said.
One of his favorite
movies is “Coach Carter” this
movie it is based on the true story
of Richmond high school where
the lack of support is influencing
high school kids to be rude and
distrustful, but when the new coach comes, he brings
hope to these high school kids, by playing basketball
he keeps them away from drugs, alcohol, etc. Eden
Bossombo relates a little bit because playing
basketball keeps him away from bad things. “Never
forget how far you've come. everything you have
gotten through” Bossombo said, expressing how
playing basketball has been converted into a way of
life.
