3 Overview

The One LTE Boost feature package allows for aggregation of FDD and TDD component
carriers (CCs) on an FDD and TDD hybrid network. It deals with spectrum shortages by
utilizing both FDD and TDD spectrum resources, addresses mobile broadband service
competitions, and improves service quality.
The One LTE Boost feature package includes downlink and uplink FDD+TDD carrier
aggregation (CA).
l Downlink FDD+TDD CA supports aggregation of up to five CCs.
l Uplink FDD+TDD CA supports aggregation of two CCs.

4 Applications

The One LTE Boost feature package is used on an FDD and TDD hybrid network for intra-
and inter-eNodeB CA.
For details about the activation requirements and procedures for any feature in this package,
see the specified feature parameter description.
The following table lists the features and their applications.

5 Value

FDD+TDD CA enables a UE to transmit or receive data simultaneously on FDD and TDD

CCs, increasing the UE throughput.
For the theoretical peak data rates that FDD+TDD CA can reach, see Carrier Aggregation.
The throughput gain provided by FDD+TDD CA is dependent on the following factors:
l Aggregated bandwidth: A greater bandwidth produces the higher throughput.
l Channel conditions: A larger SINR leads to the higher throughput.
