As reported by the discussant about the Timeline of Educational Psychology,

it is needed for us as a teacher to know different psychological theories for us to
create various activities for our learners, because education developed as years
went by. So, the methods of instruction and content must be revised so that the
education adjusted to the development of time.

And we as a teacher not only teaches we must be a listener because each

student brings his own thoughts, beliefs, feelings into the classroom. We, as
teachers, should know the students’ psychology because effective teacher is the one
who understands the complexities of teaching / learning process and tries to find
ways to overcome this. One way is to deal with the psychology of the students. The
teacher should not only transmit the knowledge but also guide the students. She
should maintain personal reflection, know the theories, adjust the teaching according
to these theories and she should realize that each student is unique.

More so the most important thing that I have learned in our report is that a
teacher must be very patient and considerate with his/her student because as we all
know our students have individual differences specifically in terms of learning styles
and learning conditions. We have discussed that a very vital factor in the success of
teaching and learning process is the proper assessment of your students’ learning
style.

Topic: Four Pillars of Education Professor: Dr. Hermie Cabanting
Subject: Psycho-Socio Foundations of Education Date: May 8, 2019

Based on the discussion the four pillars of education are all significant to each
other. It will be hard if one is lacking since the rest will be affected. It is not only the
parent who will be developing these skills but rather the teacher must also help to
achieve a full development of an individual. It is the responsibility of the teacher to
prepare the students for life by providing them the knowledge and skills.

So as an educator, we have the biggest role in nation building because we

help in nurturing the future leaders of our society. We cannot build the nation for our
youth for we are teachers, but we can build the youth for our nation. The four pillars
of learning serve as our guiding principles in making our classroom strategies and
techniques to make leaners fully equipped with necessary knowledge, skills, and
values for the world of work. Eventually, every educational institution will produce an
all-rounded individual with spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness as global
citizens.

And my most significant learning in the discussion is that true education

means developing not only the cognitive phase of an individual but also the moral
spiritual and social aspect. 21st century education builds new concept of learning
breaking boundaries of conventional learning to provide new generation of learners
the so called “millennials” a suitable learning environment for them.
