NEC approves Rs 1.837 trillion dev.

budget, macroeconomic framework
ISLAMABAD (APP): The
National Economic Council
(NEC) on Wednesday ap-
proved National Development
Outlay 2019-20 amounting to
Rs 1.837 trillion including Fed-
eral Public Sector Develop-
ment Programme (PSDP) and
Provincial Annual Develop-
ment Programmes (ADPs).
The NEC meeting,
headed by Prime Minister
Imran Khan, reviewed Annual
Plan 2018-19 and the pro-
posed Annual Plan 2019-20.
The meeting approved Gross
Domestic Product (GDP)
growth target of 4% along with
sectoral growth of agriculture
(3.5%) industry (2.2%) and
services sector (4.8%) for fi-
nancial year 2019-20.
The meeting reviewed
draft 12th Five Year Plan
(2018-23). It was informed that
main themes of the 12th Five
Year Plan include balanced and
equitable regional development;
sustainable, inclusive, job-cre-
ating export-led growth; re-

governments to overcome economic crisis

ing governance; improving so-
cial protection; ensuring food
and water security, enhancing
connectivity, promoting knowl-
edge economy and Clean and
Green Pakistan.
The NEC approved 12th
Five Year Plan (2018-23), in
principle. It was decided that
the plan will be further fine-
tuned, especially its implemen-
tation mechanism, in consulta-
tion with all stakeholders. The
meeting reviewed Public Sec-
tor Development Programme
(PSDP) 2018-19 and the pro-
posed PSDP 2019-20.
It was informed that PSDP
2019-20 focuses on new initia-
tives in the field of agriculture,
information technology, higher
education, science & technol-
ogy and technical education
and training. The meeting was
informed that targeted interven-
tions will be made in the less
developed districts of the coun-
try to bring them at par with
other parts of the country for
regional equalization.
Ten billion Tsunami Pro-
gram, Prime Minister’s Youth
Skill Development Initiative,
rehabilitation of affected
population residing along Line
of Control, construction of
Gilgit-Shandur-Chitral Road
and improvement of sewerage
and sanitation system of Gilgit,
and development of merged dis-
tricts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
are some of the major priority
areas of Public Sector Devel-
opment Programme (PSDP)
2019-20.
The Progress Report of

was laid before the National
Economic Council.
The NEC confirmed ex-
tension in powers of Special
Forum for Rehabilitation and
Reconstruction in FATA (erst-
while) till December 2019. The
Special Forum, under the
Chairmanship of Commander

the NEC on 30.05.2016 for a
period of two years for fast
track implementation mecha-
nism for Rehabilitation and
Reconstruction in erstwhile

resolution if it was working dishonestly.
While offering an idea of talks to Pashtun
Tahafuz Movement (PTM), he stated that
it is the responsibility of government to
respect every Pakistani. “When I was the
Interior Minister, I made Mohsin Dawar
and Ali Wazir sit together for talks”, he

the head of NDS from 2010 to 2012. On
the other hand PTM leader Ali Wazir is
continuously inciting people against
Pakistan Army. He demanded that Pa-
kistan Army should leave Waziristan. It
is worth mentioning here that a US news
agency Voice of America is airing anti
Pakistan news continuously by publish-
ing Mohsin Dawars’s interviews.
The prevailing situation and events
show that, India has started spreading
subversion and sabotage in Pakistan in
connivance with its allies including
America and Afghanistan. And to attain
this goal, it is ready to go to any extent
to get its 70-year-old dream of disinte-
grating Pakistan into parts through huge
investment. This problem is a big chal-
lenge for the current Government and
National Security Institutions. As per
our opinion the Government will have
to work with wisdom and very softly to
overcome it. It is necessary and need of
the hour to deal all those attempting to
challenge writ of the Government and
malign integrity of Defense Institutions
including Pak Army with iron hand.

GoB decides to
computerize
arms licenses
in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Government of
Balochistan has decided to
computerize all arms licenses
in the province.
According to an official
hand out issued by the provin-
cial Home Department on
Wednesday, it has been de-
cided to allocate Rs. 160 mil-
lion in the next financial year
budget to ensure implementa-
tion on the computerization of
arms licenses.
The Home department
said that the process of com-
puterization of arms licenses
would be started in the month
of August this year.
The process to be started

censes would be computerized
in all the district in the phases.

Ali Sadpara of Skardu climbed 8485-metre Makalu
peak on May 24 in Nepal, the fifth highest mountain

Sadpara became the only Pakistani mountain-
