Consequently, aquaponic system will be further introduced into building to develop a new lifestyle

which is able to form self-sufficiency through increasing job opportunities and food production
for the community. This study discusses how permaculture aquaponic system works to achieve
self-sustain scheme living that can increase financial resource and improve environmental living
condition. Self-sustaining building in urban with vertical farming gain new interest to create a
better environment.

Eco challenge

The Perodua Eco Challenge 2017 (PEC 2017), one of Perodua’s main Corporate
Responsibility programmes, returns with invitations to institutions of higher learning to
propose the best innovative components which might be incorporated in its future models.
In previous years, participating teams had to build prototype vehicles with a specific
objective.

etween 2009 and 2013, the Perodua Eco Challenge was focused on redesigning of
existing Perodua models then to building up a new car and marketing them with fuel
efficiency as the main objective for the participating institutions of higher learning.
Typically, the theme of the PEC during this time was more distance-race oriented.

For 2017, the participants will focus more in research and development (R&D) and work
closely with Perodua’s R&D team as well as its vendors to produce a prototype
component with more of a parts development theme incorporated in the challenge.

niversiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) is the overall champion of the Perodua Eco Challenge 2017, beating
nine other institutes of higher learning with its ‘Techno-Seat’ storage idea. The invention also won first
prize in the Parts Development and Product Marketing sub-categories.

The UiTM team took home RM37,000 for their efforts – RM20,000 for the overall win, RM10,000 for
topping the Parts Development sub-contest and RM7,000 for the Product Marketing category. Universiti
Teknologi Petronas came in second overall, ahead of Politeknik Ungku Omar in third.
Sukan bola sepak
founded in 2008, UiTM FC made club debut into Malaysian football by joining the third-tier
league Malaysia FAM League in 2009. The club finishes third place in 2012 Malaysia FAM
League and was promoted to the second-tier league, Malaysia Premier League in 2013 to
replace USM FC, who were withdrawing from Malaysia Premier League due to financial difficulties.
On 25 July 2010, the club won the first edition of IPT League tournament by beating UKM FC 3–0 in
the final at UiTM Stadium. UiTM FC's first goal was scored by Amirizdwan Taj before Fahrul
Razi scored the second goal in the 37th minute. The third goal was an own goal by the UKM FC's
Muhammed Suffian. Fahrul Razi was selected as the man of the match in the final.[4]
During 2017 season, UiTM FC managed to qualify for the Malaysia Cup for the first time since the
club's establishment.[5] UiTM became the fifth teams from the Malaysia Premier League to qualify for
the 2017 Malaysia Cup competition after the completion of the final fixtures in the first half of the
season.[6]
UiTM's selection of players is somewhat unique in that the players, including import players, must
undertake undergraduate courses in UiTM in order to be selected to the squad
Shell eco marathon

One of the world’s leading energy efficiency competitions

Shell Eco-marathon is a unique global programme, for science, technology, engineering and maths
students to design and build ultra-energy-efficient cars, and then take them out on the track in
competition.
Around the world the programme inspires thousands of students to work collaboratively in their
university teams to put their theories of energy-efficiency to the test, using cutting-edge technology,
critical thinking, and innovative ideas.

Every year brings new stories of human endeavour and technical excellence, as teams push the
boundaries of what’s possible through two key competition types:

The Mileage Challenge – competing to see who can get around laps of the track using the least
amount of energy.

The Drivers’ World Championship – matching the proven energy-efficiency of their car, with the
strategy, skill and speed of the

SINGAPORE, 20 March 2017 – Raking in the top spot yet again, Team UiTM Eco-Sprint from
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam, Malaysia brought home victory for the fourth
consecutive time with a result of 359.4km/m3 in the Hydrogen category, at the recently held Shell
Eco-marathon Asia 2017 competition in Singapore. Emerging as the runners up in the same
category, University of Malaya’s Eco-Voyager earned Malaysia a sweet 1-2 victory by achieving an
improved reading of 255.7km/m3 (compared to the team’s previous reading at the competition last
year)!

The Shell Eco-marathon Asia is an annual competition that challenges teams to design, build and
drive the most energy-efficient cars. This year,123 student teams from 20 countries competed in
either of two categories of the competition: Prototype – futuristic and highly aerodynamic vehicles –
or UrbanConcept – highly economical vehicles that resemble today’s cars. These categories were
further divided into three sub-categories of energy sources, of which students would select from:
Internal Combustion Engine (ICE): Gasoline, diesel, ethanol (biofuel), Gas to Liquid (GTL) fuel made
from natural gas, CNG (compressed natural gas); hydrogen fuel cell; and battery electric power.
World solar

Once again Team UiTM took up the challenge alongside competitors from various
universities around the world in Adelaide, South Australia from October 8 till October 15
2017.

These are some snapshots of the event.

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge has become the world’s foremost innovation
challenge with teams from around the world vying to become the first to deliver sustainable
solar powered electric vehicles.

This year marks the event’s 14th crossing of Australia and the 30 year Anniversary of the
challenge.

The World Solar Challenge (WSC), or the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge since 2013, tied to
the sponsorship of Bridgestone Corporation[1] is the world's most well-known solar-powered car
race event. A biennial road race covering 3,022 km (1,878 mi) through the Australian Outback,
from Darwin, Northern Territory, to Adelaide, South Australia, created to foster the development of
experimental, solar-powered vehicles.[2]
The race attracts teams from around the world, most of which are fielded
by universities or corporations, although some are fielded by high schools. The race has a 32-year
history spanning fourteen races, with the inaugural event taking place in 1987. Initially held once
every three years, the event became biennial from the turn of the century.
Since 2001 the World Solar Challenge was won seven times out of nine efforts by the Nuna team
and cars of the Delft University of Technology from the Netherlands, with only the Tokai Challenger,
built by the Tokai University of Japan able to take the crown in 2009 and 2011.
Starting in 2007, the WSC has been raced in multiple classes. After the German team of Bochum
University of Applied Sciences competed with a four-wheeled, multi-seat car, the BoCruiser (in
2009), in 2013 a radically new "Cruiser Class" was introduced, racing and stimulating the
technological development of practically usable, and ideally road-legal, multi-seater solar vehicles.
Since its inception, Solar Team Eindhoven's four- and five-seat Stella solar cars from Eindhoven
University of Technology(Netherlands) won the Cruiser Class in all three races sofar.

he concept behind Formula SAE is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a student
design team to develop a small Formula-stylerace car. The prototype race car is to be evaluated for
its potential as a production item. The target marketing group for the race car is the non-professional
weekend autocross racer. Each student team designs, builds and tests a prototype based on a series
of rules, whose purpose is both ensuring on-track safety (the cars are driven by
thstudentsthemselves)and promoting clever problem solving

Formula SAE is a student design competition organized by SAE International (previously known as
the Society of Automotive Engineers, SAE). The competition was started in 1980 by the SAE student
branch at the University of Texas at Austin after a prior asphalt racing competition proved to be
unsustainable.
Our Integrated Product Design MSc degree focuses on the design of innovative products,
emphasising the balance between the interest of users, industry, society and the
environment. It covers the whole design process, integrating all aspects relevant to
product development - technology, management, aesthetics, sustainability, ergonomics,
marketing, business and design methods - to produce highly qualified and sought after
designers able to cope with the challenges the global economy presents.
