Notes on T2 adapters for digital system cameras with interchangeable lens

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Digital system cameras with interchangeable lens can be attached to microscopes with interface AV25 (1), AV200 (2),
  DV4N (3), TS60 (4), TS60N (5) and P95 (6) if a suitable T2 adapter (9) for the camera bayonet is available. Using this
adapter, attachment is made directly to the camera housing without a lens.
Optical systems with factor 1.6x and 2.5x (7/8) are available for the interfaces TS60 and TS60N. This ensures
individualized adjustment of the image section to cameras with 35 mm format sensor size (approx. 36x24 mm; 2.5x
adapter) or APS-C sensor size (approx. 22.5x15 mm; 1.6x adapter).
For further details on the adapters required for different cameras, please see the camera assistant at
  https://www.micro-shop.zeiss.com.
We only recommend digital cameras featuring the LiveView mode. Otherwise, the vibrations of shutter and mirror
may produce blurred images. Furthermore, the camera should allow automatic exposure control, also without a
camera lens. For more details, please refer to the user manual of your camera.

Mounting the camera:

• Remove the dust cover or camera lens from the camera housing.
  • Attach the camera-specific T2 adapter (9) to the respective camera housing.
• Mount the microscope-specific adapters as shown in Fig. 1 and connect them to the camera housing.

• Mount the camera housing with attached adapters to the microscope interface.

Recommended camera settings:

• Activate the LiveView mode
• Deactivate the integrated flash

• Set the automatic exposure control to time priority.
  • Set white balance in accordance with available light
• Make an exposure series and set the exposure correction according to the results. Please bear in mind that a
required exposure correction may depend on the contrasting method used (typical: between -1 EV and +1 EV)
• To avoid vibrations, the exposure should be triggered via a remote release or directly via the PC. Alternatively,
the delayed-action shutter release can be used.

)  Not all cameras feature these possibilities. For more details, please refer to the user manual of your camera.
