Knowledge is defined as facts, information and skills acquired by a person through experience or
education. it is viewed as a vital asset in any organization. Hence, it has to be developed, more
importantly managed.
Tacit knowledge is knowledge stored in the brain of a person. Explicit knowledge on the other hand
is knowledge contained in documents or other forms of storage other than the human brain.
Moreover, Explicit knowledge is the type that can be stored or imbedded in facilities, products,
processes, services and systems. Both types of knowledge can be produced as a result of
interactions or innovations. They can be the outcome of relationships or alliances.1
In view of the need to improve the systems and processes within the Administrative Service, The
Office of the Director, Administrative Service (OD-ADSERV) shall sponsor series of small-group
lecture/discussions on Knowledge Management (KM).
In this regard, OD-ADSERV shall have its Pilot KM session with the topic, Complete Staff Work, on
the 12th of April 2019 at 1:30 - 2:30 pm at the OD-ADSERV Conference Room. The activity aims
to supplement/augment working knowledge of concerned staff in undertaking CSW.
