1 PEL-RACK
1.1 Overview
PEL-RACK has total 18 slots and out of 18 slots, one left most & one right
most slots marked with PWR are used for power supply cards (AC or DC) and
one Center slot marked SNMP used for SNMP card. In case of power supply
hot standby redundancy (1+1) is provided, if one PSU card fails then other one
can take care for the power supply requirement of the rack and the rack will
work normally. Each PSU card has been capable to meets power requirement
of the fully configured rack.
Note:
b) 1 to 7 and 8 to 15 slots from left to right are universal slots for Converters
cards i.e. Ethernet to 1E1 or Ethernet to 2E1 or Ethernet to 4E1 or
Ethernet to 8E1 or any combination may be inserted in any slot.
c) The left most & right most slots marked with PWR are used for power
supply cards (AC or DC as per customer requirement)

After changing IP address, subnet mask and gateway do not press RST switch.
If you forget the IP address then press RST switch to activate the default
configuration.
Power supply cards (AC or DC) are available for the operation of PEL-RACK
and user can select any of them as per their requirement. These cards can be
inserted in the left most & right most slots of PEL-RACK.

2.1 Overview
This series of products are orientated in the broadband and multiplay access
systems for its high-quality, high-stability and low price. This is the most newly
promoted product that can transmit Fast Ethernet (Optical / Electrical) data
over NxE1 lines. It is a protocol converter using inverse multiplexing technique.
The product provides 10/100Base-TX port and 100Base-FX port. You can
choose any one of them or use both of them simultaneously. The E1 interface
is either 75 Ohm or 120 Ohm (Requirement to be mentioned at the time of
ordering).
monitoring the E1 channel working status. It can be manage through CLI, Web
manager and GUI based SNMP software.
Hardware
data.
• Comply with ITU-T G.703, G.704 & G.823 for E1 ports and IEEE-802.3
•
Optical port supports 100Base-FX mode and Electrical port support
10/100Base-TX mode.
•
Provide setting for CRC errors threshold for each E1 channel. If the
CRC error rate of any E1 channel exceeds the threshold, the system
will shut down this channel, and reassign the data flow to the valid E1
channels automatically.
• Managed / Un-managed(optional).

Ensure that properly grounded power supply should be used and if there has
any equipments links with PEL-RACK directly or indirectly, the power supply
for these equipments must be same.
PEL-RACK and Standalone must be installed near the proper grounded power
supply which should not more then a distance of 2 meter. Anything can not be
placed in the equipment.

5.1 Overview
Steps for starting the SNMP Network Management System are as follows:
Configure the IP details through Console port interface, such as IP address,
subnet mask and gateway.
Install the SNMP Network Management software on the PC.
Link the LAN interface of SNMP card in PEL-RACK with the PC, where
SNMP Network Management software installed through LAN cable.
Start the SNMP Network Management software and access the
PEL-RACK through the IP address assigned to the SNMP card.
5.3 Description
network.
The network management PC exchanges the information with the device
through IP network using SNMP protocol. All information is saved to the
database.
The SNMP card must be properly installed in the SNMP indicative slot.
After installing SNMP card in to rack, Power On the rack then LED’s will
Connect LAN port of SNMP card to PC with cross cable or to SWITCH with
straight cable.
At this time, you should input the password (PEL or admin or hctel) and then
you can see the figure show below:
Then you should input the wanted IP address, subnet mask, and default
gateway, and click on “submit” button to change the IP configuration.
Note: If you forget the IP address or the web password, please use CLI
command “show run” to get them. See Para 6.2.3.
You can install the SNMP management software on your PC. After you
finished this, you can configure the parameters of the equipments by this
Software. Now you can configure the remote end equipment by connecting
your PC with the local equipment’s NM port and the network management
system on your PC in the scenario of point to point network, and you can
monitor the status of the remote equipment too. Remember: SNMP Software
does this job through SNMP on the point-to-point network. PC along with
Windows OS and IE browser is required. Do the following step:
NOTE: After the above five steps, the computer will install the SNMP protocol
automatically. During the process, you will be asked to insert the “Windows
Operation System CD”. So you should prepare your operation system CD to
finish the task.
Select the installation path, and then click the Install button.
When the installation is complete, click the “Finish” button to run the SNMP
Software.
Now press the SNMP software icon available on to your PC. This figure will
appear after SNMP startup.
Fill in the User name: “admin” and Password: “admin or hctel”, and then
click the OK button to enter the SNMP software main window.
Now the following figure will display. click the “Edit” button on the toolbar,
or click the “Configuration”-->”Edit” button in the menu bar.
Click the “Device Tree” on the left bottom. Then a window like figure below
shows on the left.
Select the “Multi-service Access Platform ” in the Device Tree on the left,
hold the left mouse key and drag it to edit area on the right.
Fill the Name, IP Address, Comment of the device, and then click the “OK”
button;
Double click the icon in the edit topology area, a dialog box
will pop-up, click “yes”, and then figure will show as the figure below.
Add the device automatically. Click the “Edit” button to be come out from
edit mode.
Click the “search” button, the “Search the Device Configuration” dialog box
will pop-up. Then click the “update” button on the “Search the Device
Configuration” to start to search the device and card which connect with
the chassis, as the figure below. After that, please click the “close” button
to close the “Search the Device Configuration” dialog box, the device and
card will be showed.
One another way by which you can add the device and card by yourself.
Add the Card of the “Multiservice Access Platform” in the device tree; drag
Click the “Network Map” button at the left bottom as the figure below.
Click the “ ” sign of the network map in the “Device and Map” window, the
“New Zone” will appears. Now double click the “New Zone” tree.
.
If needed then modify the zone property, please place the mouse on right
blank zone and click the right mouse key, the menu will pop-up, now select

For alarm configuration, click on alarm Config in fault menu of PEL View
software.
Alarms Descriptions window will appear with various default and user
Now Right click on user defined alarm levels for any alarm, Different
alarms categories will appear as Critical, major, minor, warning & normal.
Now you will get normal status (Green colour) for your healthy conditions
like E1 Up, Ethernet link up, or get major or minor alarms in Recently Alert
Info window with their respective colours as
Critical Red
Major Orange
Minor Pink
Warning Yellow
Normal Green
You may configure the standalone converters through hyper terminal also. You
can set a connection between your PC serial port and the console port of the
equipment. The cable details given in the Para1.4.3.1.
After connecting you must set the serial port properties as follows:
Now you can power on the converter, and then you can see the blow figure

FAL Alarm:-
Device will detect one special bit when it receive the signal, and compare
with the special bit in the signal which it send out, if they are continuously
different 3 times, device will give FAL alarm. Please refer below conditions:
If you don't connect the E1 line, there are 3 conditions:
A. You don't set any loop back, FAL bright, because device does not
receive any signal.
B. You set remote loop back, FAL bright, then no matter you connect the
E1 or not, the FAL will keep bright the same.
C. You set local loop back, FAL off, because the device receive signal
which from it.
A. You don't set any loop back, FALoff. Then if the E1 error rate on the
line go to bad to one level, that the signal which device receiving is not
as per the requirement, so FAL will be bright.
B. FAL off, then you set remote loopback, FAL off as the same, because
all the data and clock will loop back to remote device, device will not
detect any changes on clock, so FAL will keep off the same.
C. FAL off, then you set local loop back, FALoff as the same, because
device receive signal which from itself, FAL will keep off the same.
Loop Back:
You can set 4 types loop back through software, they are A, B, E, and F.
