1.6 Converters Cards

Ethernet to NxE1 converter cards used Inverse multiplexing technology due to

that they can transmit 10M/100M Ethernet data through multiple E1 channels
in point to point condition. It is different from normal bridge, supporting
1E1/2E1/4E1/8E1 customized configured channels, auto detecting the
number of E1 channels and uses the available working E1, allow some limiting
transfer delay between different E1 channels. 1 channel can go up to
1984Kbits/s, 2 channels can go up to 3968Kbits/s, 4 channels can up to
7936Kbits/s and 8 channels can up to 15872Kbits/s. It can connect with
Ethernet switch or hub when in 10/100Mbps full/half duplex mode; make use
of mass E1 resources in telecommunication networks to expend the transfer
distance and application of Ethernet. It is a suitable solution for broadband and
Multiplay connectivity. It can used in areas such as connecting LANs,
connecting end offices, Video on demand, remote monitoring, E1 interface of
switches, etc.

 Transparent transfer of Fast Ethernet data on to NxE1 channels

 Complied as per IEEE-802.3, IEEE-802.1q and 10/100M Ethernet,
full/half duplex interface.
 Ethernet support AUTO-MDIX (cross over and straight through self
adapt)
 Auto isolates those E1 lines with poor transfer quality or error. When
error rate cross the threshold, it disconnect that E1 line only.
 Allow 16ms transfer delay up to 1E1/2E1/4E1/8E1 channels. When the
delay is cross the limits data transfer can stop automatically.
 Transmit transparently over length framing as IEEE 802.1q
requirement and support Ethernet exchanger with VLAN function.
 E1 interface compatible with ITU-T G.703, G.704, and G.823.
 E1 interface having internal clock resume circuit and HDB-3 codec
circuit.
 Support customized configured 1E1/2E1/4E1/8E1 channels and at
reset it auto detects the number of available E1 channels
 Support remote system reset function from local system

2 Ethernet to NxE1 Converter (Stand alone)

2.1 Overview

This series of products are orientated in the broadband and multiplay access
systems for its high-quality, high-stability and low price. This is the most newly
promoted product that can transmit Fast Ethernet (Optical / Electrical) data
over NxE1 lines. It is a protocol converter using inverse multiplexing technique.
The product provides 10/100Base-TX port and 100Base-FX port. You can
choose any one of them or use both of them simultaneously. The E1 interface
is either 75 Ohm or 120 Ohm (Requirement to be mentioned at the time of
ordering).

This protocol converter provides bandwidth up to 2.0Mbps (1E1), up to

4.0Mbps (2E1), up to 8.0Mbps (4E1) and up to 16.0Mbps (8E1) for Ethernet
connection. And it also provides complete LED indications to show the status
and respective alarm of the E1 channels and Ethernet ports in the NMS. It is
widely used in LAN connection, IP transmission and video broadcasting. The
product has the feature of setting CRC error threshold on E1 channels and

monitoring the E1 channel working status. It can be manage through CLI, Web
manager and GUI based SNMP software.

There is a simple web server in the equipment, which provides a way to

change the IP address from network. You can connect the RJ-45 port on your
PC with the NM port on the desktop equipment or the Ethernet port of SNMP
card on the rack equipment through Ethernet crossover/straight through cable
(Default IP Address: 192.168.10.10, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.000) . Now
change your PC IP in to the same range that means 192.168.10.
XXX, after
that you can open the Internet Explorer on your PC and you get below screen
in which password need to be entered:

Installation and Operation Manual

Note:
 FAL Alarm:-
Device will detect one special bit when it receive the signal, and compare

with the special bit in the signal which it send out, if they are continuously

different 3 times, device will give FAL alarm. Please refer below conditions:
If you don't connect the E1 line, there are 3 conditions:

A. You don't set any loop back, FAL bright, because device does not
receive any signal.
B. You set remote loop back, FAL bright, then no matter you connect the
E1 or not, the FAL will keep bright the same.

C. You set local loop back, FAL off, because the device receive signal
which from it.

If you connect the E1 line, there are 3 conditions:

A. You don't set any loop back, FALoff. Then if the E1 error rate on the
line go to bad to one level, that the signal which device receiving is not
as per the requirement, so FAL will be bright.

B. FAL off, then you set remote loopback, FAL off as the same, because
all the data and clock will loop back to remote device, device will not
detect any changes on clock, so FAL will keep off the same.

C. FAL off, then you set local loop back, FALoff as the same, because
device receive signal which from itself, FAL will keep off the same.

 Loop Back:
You can set 4 types loop back through software, they are A, B, E, and F.

A is local loop back at local device

B is remote loop back at local device

E is remote loop back at remote device

F is local loop back at remote device

A B C D E F
