In order to make the students of Bongabong National High School Measles free and immune from
tetanus, a total of 215 Grade seven were vaccinated with measles rubella (MR) and Tetanus toxoid Diptheria
vaccine last September 2017.
It was simultaneously conducted in all public high schools and the grade seven students are the
beneficiaries of the said program.
Prior to the vaccination, a team of municipal nurses interviewed the grade seven students in regard to its
health condition.
Moreover, a parent consent was also signed by the parent of the grade seven student to assure that they give
permission to the school and to the government to let their child be vaccinated.
“The vaccination program is helpful as they may not get sick,” said Mrs. Loreta M. Sapilan, School Nutrition

Canteen: Filthy
It is sad to note that while we stand proud of our tagline “steward of
excellence” we failed at one aspect – maintaining the cleanliness of our
school canteen.
See it this way, we have canteen vendors who just hand their
products without using any gloves. Not even mentioning that their hands
are having long nails, hairs are not having any hair nets, and worst their
place is filthy.
To this, we could not blame the Environmental Sanitary Inspection
of the Department Of Health (EnviSan - DOH) when they gave us 60%
out of the 100% for our school canteen. This is according to Mr. Andrie
Bahao, the sanitary inspector of EnviSan in Laak.
These issues are not new, even the school administration knows
about this and it seems there is lack of actions toward this. It seems that
even the students clamor are not given any attention and the school
administration just shrugs off their shoulder upon hearing any of these.
We dare to say that the school canteens failed rating is a just one so as
to call our administrations attention and to the vendors as well to at least
uphold cleanliness and practice waste segregation.
School vendors really have the lack of attention about their Grade 7 tops most count of wasted students
