Subject: 2018 DIVISION ARALING PANLIPUNAN DAY

“ 1. To partially assess the level of effectiveness of K to 12 Curriculum implementation, DepEd


Camarines Sur will hold the 2018 Division Araling Panlipunan Day for Elementaiy Level,
with the theme ’’PAGMAMAHAL SA BAYAN AT MGA ARAL NG KASAYSAYAN” on
December 7,2018, 8:00 AM at Tigaon Central Pilot School, Tigaon, Camarines Sur.
2. The participants to division level contest are the first place winners in the district elimination
round together with their respective coaches. Other participants who are expected to attend
the activity are the working committeesand members of the management team.
3. Events to be contested are as follows: 1] On-the-spot Poster Making Contest, 2] Action
Research, 3] Contextualized books, 4] Best Teaching Practices, 5] Quiz Bee, 6] Students’
Portfolio, 7] Strategic Intervention Materials (SIM), 8] Item analysis of quarterly assessment,
9] Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP), 10] Innovative or interactive Instructional Materials and 11]
IPCRF Portfolio for Teachers and School Head In-Charge. For the effective implementation
of this event, a finalization meeting among District Araling Panlipunan Coordinators will be
conducted on October 30,2018 at 8:00amI to 5:00pm in DepEd Cam. Sur Conference Hall.
4. Contest guidelines and other important information are hereby attached as Enclosure A. The
names of the working committee chair and members who will facilitate the activity are stated
in Enclosure B.
5. A Registration fee of one hundred pesos (PI00.00) per participant/teacher shall be collected
to cover the expenses of the activity. Travel expenses of participants and committee
chairpersons and members relative to the conduct of the above-mentioned activities shall be
charged against local/ school fund, School Board Fund, SPG, PTA fund and/ or fund sourced
out from Private organizations subject (to the usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.
6. For information, guidance and immediate dissemination of this Memorandum to all
concerned is hereby requested.

I. ON-THE-SPOT POSTER MAKING


1. Each district should be represented by one (1) contestant from Grades l - 3 and one (l) contestant
from Grades 4 - 6 .
2. Participants are expected to provide their own materials. Pre-drawn sketches shall not be allowed.
3. Each contestant should bring % illustration board, Cray pass as materials. Only (3) colors, RED, BLUE, YELLOW
plus black and white shall be allowed. Only the five (5) colors shall be allowed to be placed on the working
tables of each contestant. Combination of these colors is allowed.
4. Borrowing of materials from other contestants during the contest is prohibited.
5. Duration of the contest shall be 3 hours. There shall be no extension of time for late comers.
6. Finished outputs should not contain any label of the theme or name of contestant/ school/ district. Only the
number (based on the list of entry) shall be written at the back part of illustration board with the initial of the
Contest Manager.
7. Criteria forjudging are as follow:
a. CREATIVITY andPRESENTATION - 50%
b. ORIGINALITY -30%
c. RELEVANCE TO THE THEME - 20%

8. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and un-appealable.

IL ACTION RESEARCH FESTIVAL


1. There shall be One (1) contestant for student and one (1) for teacher category per district
2. Format for Action Research should adhere to DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2017
3. Short bond paper will be used, using Times new Roman font style, 11" or 12" font size, double- spaced and
default margin of 1"

1. There shall be maximum of Six (6) contestants for student category and six (6) contestants for teacher's
category per district
2. The focus of the stories are as follows:
A. For Students Category
❖ Grade 1- Bicol key words of the alphabet about local materials in the community.
❖ Grade 2- Filipino key words of the alphabet about local materials in the community.
❖ Grade 3- Filipino key phrases reflecting care and love for the family.
❖ Grade 4- Key phrases about trees in the school and in the community.
❖ Grade 5- Feature article of the local scenery.
❖ Grade 6- Feature on Gabaldon Building or Historical icon in the community/school.
B. For Teachers Category (Teachers teaching AP)

4. The book must be in a full short size bond paper, using Century Gothic as font style, minimum of 16 font size for
Grades 1-3 and 14 font size, for Grades 4-6 (double-spaced and default margin of 1') with the combination of
pictures and text on the same page of the book with texts on the right side or using the usual/old format. The
title should have one (1) font size bigger than the content. Portrait orientation or booklet type using 8.5 x 11"
special paper for the cover with substance 24 bond paper shall be used. There should be at most eight (8)
sheets per contextualized book. Each sheet should be maximized.
5. RED must be the color of the cover assigned to Araling Panlipunan subject.

IV. BEST TEACHING PRACTICES (Teacher Category)


1. There shall be two (2) contestants per district.
2. The focus must be the Teaching Learning Process, Visual Management and Mistake Proofing in line with the
Kto 12 Curriculum Implementation in Araling Panlipunan using CONTEXTUALIZATION, INDIGENIZATION OR
LOCALIZATION, EXPLICIT TEACHING and ICT on the assigned Components:
a. Classroom management - 1st Congressional District
b. Learning management skills - 2nd Congressional District
c. Content mastery - 3rd Congressional District
d. Instructional competence - 4 th Congressional District
e. Assessment Skills - 5th Congressional District
NOTE: Submit the document with the semi-detailed lesson plan signed by the principal

NOTE: The Best Practices should be attached with the Pre- and Post -Observation sheets conducted by the
Principal and/ or the PSDS/EPS and the document shall be submitted two weeks on or before Nov 23, 2018.

V. QUIZ BEE (Grade 1-6)


1. There shall be one (1) contestant per grade level (Grade 1 to 6) students per district.
2. The questions must be written in Filipino for all levels.
3. Each coach from Grades 1-3 should prepare 1-easy, 1-average and 1-difficult questions based on the
curriculum guide 2016 with key to correction and references. Questions should be encoded in a V*
crosswise long- sized bond paper. Ten questions will be drawn for each category.
4. Coaches from Grades 4-6 shall likewise submit 1-easy, 1-average and 1-difficult questions based from the
curriculum guide 2016 with key to correction and references. Questions should be encoded in a 34
crosswise long- sized bond paper. Fifteen questions will be drawn for each category.
5. The contestants with the highest scores will be declared as winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd...).
6. In case of tie, all contestants who tied for the particular place shall be declared winners.
7. Questions will be disqualified if reference, page number and answer key were not indicated.,

VI. STUDENTS' COLLABORATIVE PORTFOLIO


1. This contest shall be a 'TEAM COMPETITION". Each team shall be composed of (5) students from Grade 5 or 6.
2. Presentation time should not exceed 10 minutes
3. Documents should be validated by the contest managers, judges, District Coordinator, School
Head In-Charge in AP and PSDS during the district Competition.
4. The criteria for judging are as follows:

mastered competencies from 1st to 4th grading period
3. Documents should be validated by the Contest Managers, Judges, District Coordinator, School Head In­
charge in AP during the district competition.
4. Red must be the color of the cover assigned to Araling Panlipunan subject.
5. The criteria forjudging are as follows:

VIII. ITEM ANALYSIS OF QUARTERLY ASSESSMENT


1. Coverage of the test to be analyzed shall be school year 2017-2018 including 1st grading of SY 2018-2019
with a total of five categories.
2. Test paper in Araling Panlipunan to be analyzed shall be in the school level only where the contestant is
serving.
3. Assignment shall be as follows: FIRST District for the 1st Grading-SY 2017-2018; SECOND District for the
1st Grading- SY 2018-2019; THIRD District for the 2nd Grading, FOURTH District for the 3rd Grading and
FIFTH District for the 4th Grading Period attached with test papers
4. Submitted document shall have the following format:

1. This contest is open to all Araling Panlipunan Teachers in any Grade level.
2. Each contestant may choose and submit One (1) Innovative or interactive instructional materials in Araling
Panlipunan from 1st to 4th grading.
3. Documents should be validated by the Contest Managers, Judges, District Coordinator, School Head In­
charge in AP during the district competition.
4. Red must be the color of the cover assigned to Araling Panlipunan subject if it is a book or similar material.
5. The criteria forjudging are as follows:
a. Durability/User friendly - 25pts
b. Economical - 20pts
c. Creativity - 20pts
d. Competency-based - 25pts
e. Availability of user's guide - lOots

XI. IPR PORTFOLIO FOR TEACHERS AND SCHOOL HEAD IN-CHARGE OF AP


1. This contest is open to all Teachers in any Grade level and school head In-Charge in AP.
2. Each contestant shall submit his/her IPR portfolio using the new guidelines stated in RPMS Manual.
3. Documents should be validated by the Contest Managers, Judges, District Coordinator, School Head In-
charge in AP during the Division competition.
6. The criteria for judging are as follows:

g. Economical - 20pts
h. KRA and Objective based - 20pts
i. Presentation/Organization - 25pts

NOTE: Books, Action Research, Collaborative Portfolio, Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) and Best Teaching
Practices in Araling Panlipunan should be submitted on November 23,2018-two (2) weeks before the
actual competition on December 7,2018 with a notarized omnibus certificate.

NO BREAKING OF TIE
In cases of tie in the first, second and third place in each event, all shall be declared winners in their
rank position.

DECLARATION OF WINNERS
The top ten (10) contestants in each event shall be declared winners.

DISQUALIFICATION OF CONTESTANT
Any violation of the contest rules by any contestant may cause disqualification of the concerned
person

XII.KASAYSAYAN, HEOGRAPIYA AT KULTURA NG PILIPINAS QUIZ


Grade Level: Elementary (Grades 4 to 6)
Number of Contestants: 2
Time Allotment: 3 Hours
Criteria for Assessment: Easy, Average and Difficult
RULES AND MECHANICS (adopted from the Regional guidelines)
a. The quiz is open to all types of learners who are officially enrolled in Grades 4 to 6
b. The team shall be composed regular learners and learners with disability such as those with
seeing and hearing impairment, physically challenged, learners with autism and others who shall
present valid MOV's upon registration. (Anecdotal report/ learner's profile/ medical diagnosis).
c. Test questions shall be based on Araling Panlipunan Grades 4 - 6 competencies. References are
textbooks/ materials released by Bureau of Learning Resources (BLR) of DepEd and Philippine
History Books.
d. During the quiz, participants shall be provided with white board, markers and erasers.
e. Filipino shall be used as the official language in the conduct of the quiz.

f. Participants shall be given a total number of twenty (20) questions, of which six (6) are "easy",
seven (7) are "average", and seven (7) are "difficult".
g. Points for every correct answer shall be given as follows; One point for "easy" question
(multiple choice). Two points for "average" question (multiple choice), and three (3) points for
"difficult" question (identification). In case of tie, a clincher question drawn from the "difficult"
category shall be asked until a winner emerges.
h. Participants shall be given ten 910) seconds for easy, twelve (12) seconds for average, and fifteen
(15) seconds for difficult round to answer the question.
i. The quizmaster shall read each question twice. Countdown shall start after the question has
been read the second time and the quizmaster says "GO". When the quizmaster says "STOP" or
"TIME IS UP", contestants must raise their answers to the audience and to the Board of Judges
until such time that the proctors have verified or confirmed the answer. Those who are unable to
observe the instruction shall not earn a point.
j. The participants are allowed to change their answer within the allotted time.
k. Division winners shall be proclaimed based on accumulated scoring.
I. In case of a protest or inquiry during the actual quiz proceedings, the following procedures shall
be observed;
• Only the contestants or the official coaches are allowed to raise a protest or inquiry
before the next question is read.
• The protest or inquiry shall be addressed orally to the chair of the board of judges who
shall recognize the protest or inquiry after validating the proof / evidence presented.
• The chair shall announce the decision upon deliberation with the members of the board
of judges.
m. The decision of the Board of Judges is final.
