Project name: Mahata Tanjung Barat Apartment

Customer: Brantas Abipraya

Attendees: Ayyub Shabir Annas (AM), Irwan Pernando (AM BC)

Objective of the Day: To perform mockup pull out test of Chemical Anchor (te100 + rebar) and
mechanical anchor (Hus3 / stud anchor)

Observation:

Mahata Tanjung Barat is an Apartment project with Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept.
The project is owned by Perumnas and PT. KAI, and the main contractor is Brantas Abipraya. Nando
as Account Manager was collaborating with Irfan and Fano (Engineer) to perform the pull out test.
We performed the test to Mr. Rizal as Quality Surveyor of our customer. He told us that the
mechanical anchor is meant to connect the separator beam, while he also used chemical anchor for
upper structure. Therefore he needs the pull out test to make sure that our anchors can hold the
load safely.

The anchors we are using were chemical anchor (te100 + rebar) that has been installed in the
previous day, there were 12 points starting from m10 to m25. The other type were 3 mechanical
anchor (hsa / stud anchor) with m10, m12, and m16 diameters, we drill the hole with Hilti TE3 rotary
hammer and then inject the anchor inside. However, due to the technical issues with our tensile
tools (pump), the pull out test were only conducted for chemical anchor.

Here are the steps to perform the pullout test for the chemical te100 + rebar:

1. Prepare a piece of paper to write down the necessary values/parameter on the test.
2. Measure the initial height of visible anchor on the surface. Write down the result.
3. Make sure the tensile tools are already calibrated and the pressure written is zero NM, then
instal the tools on the anchor properly.
4. Pump the tensile tools until it reaches the recommended load based on FTM (Fastening
Technology Manual).
5. Continue to pump until the anchor is failed (reach the ultimate load). Write down the load
result.
6. Measure the final height of visible anchor on the surface. Write down the result. There
should be a value gap between initial and final height.

The result of pull out test has built our customer’s trust. For example, in the first rebar we test
(m10), the recommended load is 1,8 N/m, and it reached 5 N/m until there was concrete crack.
However, the chemical was just fine. The customer asked to perfom the pullout test for mechanical
anchors in another day, and we already scheduled the next meeting.

Reflection:

This pull out test was really important for me since it enables me to learn a lot about the application
of both our chemical and mechanical anchors at the field. I learn that our customer really needs the
proof that our tools and product can stand out and perform well as a guarantee. The success of our
pull out test can lead to customer’s trust and satisfaction.
