Detailed plan for the Day :
To get familiarised with the Organisation and reporting officer, and to get to know about all Commented [Comment :2]: x
the products and services offered by the company by interacting with the concerned
faculties of the organisation. And to learn about what all things are to be done in the period
of internship on a daily basis.
Forenoon activities :
All the interns had gathered in the conference room for the briefing about the internship
from the circulation manager. Mr Kurian addressed as along with few of the colleagues to
give as a clear idea about what we have to do in our internship programme. He helped us to
go through all leading newspapers and identify the differences with that of Malayala
Manorama. Such as difference in font, quality of paper, style of prioritising the news, and
about the different editions of the newspaper, i.e. newspaper distributed to different
location will have different locations and to check how many times the news has been
updated at the time of printing. The he briefed about the other publications of Malayala
Manorama like Vanitha, Balarama, Digest, Akkad Bakkad, Kalikudukka, Time, Fast track etc
and their targeted groups. The publication have been divided into MM publication and
Manorama publication. Then he gave an idea about the other benefits offered to the
customers by the organisation like insurance services at a cheaper premium and privilege
card. Mr. Rajagopalan Nair, VP- Circulation addressed us to share his view on the internship.
Afternoon Activities :
Mr Prejith from the circulation dept gave an idea about the various offers given to the new
customers to attract them, like the price of the product and the discount on advance
payments for a period. Mr Nithin Suresh from the circulation dept give information
regarding one off the major benefit offered to new customers, the free subscription to
Britannica kids for a period of 1 year, and how to use this offer to make a new customer.
After all the briefing Mr. Aneesh from the circulation department explained on how to
approach and attract a customer. And the team made as to do a mock on approaching the
customer with the product.
Observation :
The employees are well experienced in the field and they were able to give a clear cut idea
on how to approach a customer and how to exploit the brand name to make a
communication with a customer or a prospect
Key learning :
1. How to approach a prospect Commented [Comment :3]: elaborate

Approach a person without taking over his personal space, and by giving proper
respect to the customer. Make a conversation with the prospect/customer to know his
opinion about Malayala Manorama and its products. The difficulties faced by the person to
receive the product (if any). If he is a subscriber of the MM newspaper inform him about
other products of MM. Close the conversation by selling a product or collecting his feed
back
