FINAL Project Report


Due Date: May 7

Topic:

The Final Project Report is expected to present an overview for 2 cities per student focusing on the assessment
of city experience of each city in addressing the identified problem. It should follow the outline below.

Outline:
1. Introduction - Problem Definition for the 2 selected cities per student – brief overview of the identified
problem of each city and rationale for city selection (2 pg. per student).

2. Case Study (not exceeding 10 to 12 pg. per city – format used here) – The selected cases have to summarize
the experience of each city during at least one decade in order to be able to assess its success facing the
identified challenges - at this stage you have to address all the issues including below for the selected
cities:
o City Case study description
o Urban Sustainability Challenges Identified
o City Governance Decision Making & Stakeholders’ Interests
o Public Policy Objectives, Regulatory Framework & Performance Measures
o City Strategies facing the identified challenges – (ref. City Master Plan)
o Financing & Public – Private partnerships wherever appropriate
o Impacts Assessment - Environmental, Economic and Societal Impacts assessment with data to
demonstrate
o Technology solutions used and their assessment
o Other relevant issues

3. Data for performance assessment (10-year experience)

4. Lessons learned from the experience of all the cities through comparison of the outcome and comparative
analysis of the selected cases (3pg. per group)
