Sir:

May I request permission to conduct a SCHOOL LAC for the School Year 2019-
2020 to be conducted once a month to be held at Barangcuag Elementary School,
Angadanan West District, Angadanan, Isabela. Participants in this activity are the
teachers of Barangcuag Elementary School with an expected number of 6
attendees charged to MOOE.

The objectives of the said LAC SESSION are the following:


1. To orient and discuss the most priority and relevant topics based on assessment of
teacher’s needs.
2. Select and implement the most effective instructional strategies and materials
to teach the identified content objectives.
3. Keep teachers abreast with the latest trends and best practices in teaching and
learning process.
4. Nurture successful teachers.
5. Enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content
and pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills and attitude.
6. Foster a professional collaborative spirit among school heads, teachers and the
community as a whole

Attached is the LAC Session Proposal and LAC Pan for the SY 2019-2020 of
Barangcuag Elementary School. I hope for your favourable approval on my request.

THE LEARNING ACTION CELL(LAC) AS A K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

III. DESCRIPTION OF THE LAC SESSION & LEGAL BASIS


In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced Basic
Education Act of 2013, the Department of Education issues the enclosed policy on the Learning
Action Cell (LAC) as a k-12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional
Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.
Through this policy, the DepEd fully supports the continuing professional development of
its teaching personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning and DepEd’s commitment to the
development of teacher’s potential aimed towards their success in the profession. This can be
done through the school-based LAC, which primarily functions as professional learning community
for teachers that will help them to improve practice and learner achievement and as it was
institutionalized by the DepEd Order 35, series 2015.

IV. OBJECTIVES
