Subject: Methodology for the SS Cladding on Lift doors & Architrave

1. Scope of Work:

1.1 SS Sheets Cladding on the Landing Doors & Architrave

1.2 SS Sheets (Bronze Linen) - 304 Grade, 1220 (W) x 2440 (H) x 0.8 (T) mm for Door & 1220 (W) x 2440
(H) x 1.0 (T) mm for Architrave

2.1. The Adhesive thick ness should not be less than 0.5 mm before cladding. And should be applied
on One Surface Only

2.2 Two way PVC tape is used to maintain the 0.5 mm space between panel for PU Adhesive as Spacer
and it is placed on the corner edges and in grid form after 500- 600 mm.

2.3. Stacking is done in such a way to arrest the movement of SS sheet and Door panels , post
assembly for minimum 8 hrs ( or till the Product has green strength)

This time can vary based on location climatic conditions (North India During winter it can go up to 24
Hrs)

2.4. The theoretical way of calculating the volume required of Adhesive is calculate Volume in Cubic
Centimeter:

a. Panel 1: 220 Cm * 61 cm and Thickness of adhesive say 0.05 cm = 671 cubic cm =

671 ml of minimum adhesive required for this thickness of adhesive + Calculate wastage

b. Panel1: 24 cm* 61 cm and again thickness of adhesive say 0.05 cm = 732 cubic
cm = 732 ml of minimum adhesive required for this thickness of adhesive + Calculate
wastage.

Note of Caution:

Too much pressure should be avoided with MS clamping etc, as sealant squeezes out and bond line
become zero- zero.

If required we use spacer tape of (5 Wide x 0.5 thick) mm for uniformity of Adhesive.

2.5 Curing time and Weight requirement:

2.5.1 Curing Time: 12-18 Hours

2.5.2 For Edge binding, (during the curing time of 12-18 Hours): We use 3m Filament tape on edges (No
MS Clamps, unless surface undulation is there) to avoid lateral movement.

2.5.3 Weight / Pressure: For pressure general pressure and avoid movement, we Put two immediately
cladded Door panels, over each other PFA the pic and it’s been Approved by Soudal technical team.

3. Universal cleaner 165 is just cleaner is used for surface preparation and it’s not surface activator.

We also use IPA: water ratio 50:50.

Any kind of thinner is to be avoided.
