Zdravstvuyte
Menya zovut Vanya
Ochen’ priyatno!

Good morning everyone! My name’s Vanya and I’m from Russia. It is a huge
honor for me today presenting as one of the tourism ambassadors in such a big
culture fair. I hope you guys will have a great day, not only have your own exciting
experience with your friend but also gain yourself with numerous wonderful
knowledge about many countries around the world. So now, I will help you guys to
figure out some of many many interesting things about Russia.

So, when we talk about Russian culture, let’s be real, we can’t forget about the
Russian folk dances. The original Russian folk dance traditions continue to play an
important part in the culture of the country and have been in constant interaction
with Russia’s many ethnic groups.

Actually, the famous dance in Tchakovsky is based off the Ukrainian tradition and
aerobic dance, it’s called ballet. As a matter of fact, Russia has over 10 different
traditional formal dances that are known throughout the world. So considering
we’re talking about ballet, it’s a huge thing in Paris, it’s a huge thing in Spanish,
but why did it become so big in Russia?

We all know Russian are great dancers and although ballet originated in France,
one of the most important theater at the time of the initial height of ballet was the
National Opera of Uknaine.
Additionally, Russia also has

Bolshoi Theatre,
Mariinsky Theatre

And many great ballets:

Swan Lake of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Romeo and Juliet of Sergei Prokofiev.

The Sleeping Beauty of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Russia – the largest country in the world, which has over 160 different ethnic
groups with vast cultural diversity

Let’s talk about some funny facts of Russia. If you don’t know, red is a prominent
color in Russian culture and history. The Russian word for red, " krasni," is also
used to describe something beautiful, good or honorable. Many important sites
and cultural artifacts still reflect the combined usage of the word.

1. Red square

Red Square is one of the most famous examples of the red/beautiful connection.
Red Square is the most important square in Moscow and sits adjacent to
the Kremlin.

2. Red in Russian Folk Costumes

Red, the color of blood and life, features prominently in Russian folk costumes.
3. Red as a Symbol of Communism
The Bolsheviks appropriated the color red to symbolize the blood of the workers,
and the red flag of the Soviet Union, with its gold-colored hammer and sickle, is
still recognized today. During the Soviet period, red became a part of daily life
from an early age: Virtually all children were members of a communist youth
group called the Pioneers from ages 10 to 14 and were required to wear a red
scarf around their necks to school every day.
What I surprise is, this tradition was also very common with Vietnamese children,
right? And if you don’t know, red scarves worn by Chinese students, Vietnamese students,
Cuban students, and Soviet students.
Refer to communism, we can’t forget to talk about a very famous character:

Vladimir Lenin

He was a Russian revolutionary, politician, and political theorist. He served

as head of government of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924. He became an
ideological figurehead behind Marxism–Leninism and thus a prominent influence
over the international communist movement. Lenin is viewed by supporters as a
champion of socialism and the working class.

In Ha Noi, there is a park named after Lenin and it has a statue of him:
Lenin Park ( Thong Nhat Park)

So, I’ve just helped you guys to find out some of the most characteristic things
about Russia. I hope that you guys will come to our country some day and have
your own wonderful experience in Russia. To show my gratefulness to your lovely
country, I will give you a famous folk dance performance of our country, hope you
love it……..
