STEPHEN HAWKING
Introduction:
Stephen Hawking was regarded as one of the most brilliant
theoretical physicists in history.
Teacher Stephen William
Hawking was conceived on eighth January 1942 (precisely
300 years after the demise of Galileo) in Oxford,
England.
Facts about Stephen Hawking:
1)Stephen made many important contributions
to the world of science. He developed
theories about how the world began and
furthered our understanding of black holes,
stars and the universe.
2)Stephen Hawking was born January 8, 1942
on the 300th anniversary of Galileo's
death. Interestingly, he died today, March
14th, on the anniversary of Albert
Einstein's birth.
Some of his publications
:
1)
A history of time
2)
George and the big bang
3)
Black holes
4)
A grand design

Discovery:
His scientific works included a collaboration with Roger
Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the
framework of general relativity and the theoretical
prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called
Hawking radiation.
Sadly Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with an early onset
slowprogressing form of motor neurone disease AKA
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis Gehrig's disease that
gradually paralysed him over the decades.

THE SUCCESS FORMULA OF STEPHEN HAWKING:
1. He has used technology to overcome his disability
2. He refused to let his disability halt his research

Engineers:
● Vickram Crishna
● Arun Mehta
In January 2001, Stephen Hawking arrived in India for the
first time for a 16day long tour that he would later
describe as “magnificent”.
Stephen Hawking, the legendary British theoretical
physicist, was 21 when the doctors initially gave him
only a few years to live. He was diagnosed with ALS
(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) which left him bound to a
wheelchair and paralysed.
He lost his voice in 1985 after
a tracheotomy. However, a technology developed by two
Indian engineers Arun Mehta and Vickram Crishna helped
him get his voice back. Mehta and Crishna developed
eLocutor, a singlebutton typing and speaking software.
During his visit to India in 2001
, Hawking met Vickram
Crishna in Bombay to develop a new program for his
computerised machine fixed to the wheelchair.
