Bangkok in My Head

My expectations have reached a completely new level after this trip. Until

now, I never had been in East Asia nor another Asian country with the exception

of South Korea. This year I get straight and decided to visit Bangkok, settled in

Thailand. The sojourn at Bangkok was unforgettable and more instructive thanks

to the visit of lively places in the center of the country, some monuments in the

countryside, eating variate Thai dishes, benefiting more and more experiences by

learning about unusual but interesting culture which made the known of the history

to spread. Also, one of those cultural places is so famous that I could see many

foreigners accumulated there. During the plane time to the way of Bangkok, I could

see the rural part of Thailand. It seemed to be as poor as I assumed. No much

houses or apartments and the ones were neither new nor well maintained. There

were a few remained houses almost falling into the dirt-filled land. All I could see

was land, land, and nothing more. Then, suddenly the most developed city in

Thailand emerge on my eyes. It was 5 p.m. and the hot weather was on the top.

However, it did not bother thanks to the wonderful view that people were
experiencing. Also Air condition was everywhere, the fresh wind air spreading

through your skin. After getting a first enthusiastic impression, I got to the hotel.

There, I prepared all my stuff to start an exciting adventure.

Looking at the unusual places, literally with an open-mouthed. Dodging into

the center of Bangkok was totally charming and impressing me. The high

technology brutally shocked me. Such as huge buildings with enormous screens,

showing publicity of high-level illustration, so perfectly done that you can see even

the pores of the person’s skin on the advertisement. Besides that, the place was

rounded by noisy music. Moreover, there were so many people in the main street

of the city that you could not just pass over them. It was similar to Gangnam streets.

On the other hand, going to the countryside was a satisfactory plan. I was also

interested in old palaces, monuments and different types of architectures. Among

all these wonders what heartily fascinated me, was the Grand Palace. From the

moment of entrance, I started entering a new world. Traveling back in time through

the main door. It was a shiny, hot and sunny day. The gold paintings all over the

monuments completely illuminated the gold halls. Buda’s location was in a massive
monument. The composition that describes the history of religion was incredible.

When you enter to the Buda’s Temple you need to take off your shoes and there

is no courtesy to show your feet to Buda. Also, you cannot speak or take any

pictures inside the temple.

When you travel to another country, it is impossible to not taste the food.

The first food that I proved (tried) was a noodle dish but without the soup, more

like a pasta dish, called Pad Thai. The point of that noddle dish that struck me the

most is that when you put lemon on the noodle it become much fresher. It

combines with the hot and humid Thailand’s weather. Also, craps and lobsters are

often eaten in this country. Butter grilled craps and boiled and grilled lobsters were

what I picked up. The buttered smell with soft meat inside the fish was like eating

the beef meat. The most real and unexpected is that if you close your eyes and try

it, you would have a hundred percent impression of eating beef meat. In Thailand,

fruits are very popular. Moreover mango and watermelon are the most eaten. I ate

as much as my stomach became a real ball. Ate it, drink it, ingested by all ways,

every vitamin of these fruits. These fruits are so sweet that if you continue eating
them your mouth becomes sugary. The food was so cheap that I spend 5 days

eating more than 3 meals. My stomach did not stop working for a day. For example,

I waked up at 6 a.m., for my so said breakfast which was meat and pasta, then

cakes as dessert, and finally variable fruits like yellow watermelon, mango, and

pineapple.

Walking in the streets of Bangkok was already a bit of achievement for me.

But I could not stop that. While resting in coffee shops and walking in the streets,

I saw many transsexual people. Normally, you can easily recognize a man

transforming into a woman, but there, you cannot distinguish the real woman and

the transsexual men. The way how they look, their faces, their bodies, their steps

and even their clothes, are identical to woman. How they speak and smell, I can

even say that better than women. Because Thailand is a country where woman has

priority. On the other hand, going to another country can be stressful because you

should be always aware if someone wants to rob you, but in Bangkok, you don’t

need to worry about that. In the subways, there is always security and a scanning

machine that checks if you have guns, bombs or other risky equipment. Policemen
all over the city, watching foreign people. Lastly, feeling the compression of foreign

people is so dense, that sometimes you forgot that you are really in Thailand.

Everyone speaks English, so it is easy to buy or order something. Again, it is almost

impossible to get lost although it is a big city. Asking people the way, they answer

you in English.

An unforgettable adventure that made my dreams of becoming great. What

can be better than traveling wherever and whenever you want? Traveling by yourself

is an opportunity you can do whatever you want. When travel’s goal is to experience

different country’s food, eating seafood and many fruits can be a good choice. If

you want to live in a cold country or desire to explore different places from

hometown, and also the opportunity to see palaces and monuments, your choice

must be Thailand. Also, visiting places, for example, like downtown, where people

gather. Feel the energy in the night and rest with a glass of beer. Throw that, we

are able to see the culture in the night and try to integrate into them. Traveling

can be exhausting. We need to wake up early if our goal is to see and eat all we

want. That why get some rest in the evening can be a good plan to not get so
tired. Finally, It is normal to feel afraid when you travel alone. But no need worry

about that because after arriving to your destination, you will see so many people

who travel alone, that your fear disappears in a moment. Expectation fills our body

and mind.
