UNIT-I
1 Define Stability with respect electrical machines? Explain with neat sketch the 10M
Winding Commutator Machine

Equations with neat sketch.
UNIT-II
3 a Derive the expressions for armature terminal voltage and armature current of a 5M
separately excited dc generator with displaced brushes by an angle.
b Briefly explain the vector control of induction motors. 5M

with slip s.
b Derive the Transfer-Function model for the Induction Motor for stability Analysis 5M

b What is meant by SCR? Describe its effect on the performance of a synchronous 5M
machine when unloaded and loaded condition.

9 a Starting from the fundamentals, develop the equivalent circuit of a separately excited dc 5M
motor,
b Derive the expressions for armature voltage with time and armature current with time. 5M

10 a Discuss in details about the Synchronous generator and Motor systems. 5M
b Draw the equivalent circuit for a single phase induction motor based on the two 5M
revolving field theory and identify the various parameters involved in it. With this
equivalent circuit prove that forward flux wave is several times greater than the
backward flux wave at normal motor speed.

interconnected systems.
