Introduction
Do you listen to music while working? Do really feel that you are working better

because for it? The research shows that when listening to music people are separate

attention into 2 part. It’s not that human is able to listen to music while we are working

but instead just switch attention between music lyric and the work. Even so, Mozart theory

proves to us that listen to instrumental music help improve brain ability. So according to

the research, the music that people listening to music to mostly doesn't help them

concentrate on their work.

Methodology

I want to study human behavior and brain anatomy so I want to find a common

daily activity that human brain plays a big part in. The argument that “Does music really

help people work better when they listen to music while working” has been questioned for

a long time and this research was aiming to answer the argument. This report research is

made to prove that the type of music that people mostly listen to while they are working

is not the same as the music that helps improve brain concentration. It will analyze the

type of music people listen to while working according to surveys created and scientific

research from CAMBRIDGE SCIENCE BRAINs and etc. The survey I make are set to ask

teenager around the age of 15-20 in an anonymous form about what kind of music they

listen to find a certain or most common type of music to use on my analysis. The question

asks the participant how often they listen to music when they are working and that type

of music in a clear understandable choice in the format of google form (Appendix X). The

result from 50 participants will be present in the pie graph with an accurate percentage. In

the other hand, the research from Open Colleges.edu says that “The study found that

human performed worst while listening to music, regardless of whether they liked that

music, and to the speech of random numbers”. But according to what I found about in

the Mozart theory that listens to the instrumental music will help improve brain

concentration. Because of certain wave wavelength match the brain wave will help the

improve brain functioning.

Findings and Discussion

In this section for the report will being an analyze the data from the survey

(appendix A - C) and the research I gather from lots of education proof website. When

people listen to music while working or doing something else the brain tent to have two

attention system instead of thinking for just one thing (Burnett,2016). Two attention

system is that when the conscious part of our brain trying to focus on something that you

want to directly focus on it while the unconscious part keeps diving attention for our main

subject to another thing that our sense pick up along the way which in this case is music

without realizing it. According to the study from Mozart theory that listens to instrumental

music or the music that got certain sound without too much lyric as a background would

help on concentration or even help improve brain muscle permanently. According to

Appendix A, 35.4 percent says that they always listen to music, 41.7 says that they often

do and lastly 22.9 percent say sometimes they listen and as expected that no one didn’t

listen to music while working. Most people like to listen to music while working because

they feel that it help them get better at work according to Appendix C. Among this

participant, according to Appendix B 46.6 percent listen to pop music and 17 percent listen

to K-pop music which is funky beat music and heavy on lyric, on the other hand only 8.5

percent of the student listen to instrumental music while work witch is the music that

supposes to help them on their task.

Conclusion
In conclusion for this report, I did get successful research that can agree with my

thesis. It stated, “the music that people listening to music to mostly doesn't help them

concentrate on their work”, my research had proved that most people of listening to the

music that doesn’t help them with their work, but they still think that they think it does.

Also based on my own experience, I also felt that some time I get lost in the music instead

of concentrate on my work.
