Preparation before installation

- To install the MPDr software, you need to have "administrator privileges" of your PC. Log
in the PC as a user with administrator privileges.

- Uninstall any earlier versions of WinDr using the following steps:


1) Use the Control Panel to access “Add or Remove Programs” (XP) or “Programs and
Features” (Windows 7).
2) Locate “WinDr for Dealer” and click the “Remove” button

- Uninstall MPDr versions 0.9.6.2 or earlier by downloading from DealerNet the MPDr
Uninstaller and using it to remove these earlier versions of MPDr. It is not necessary or
recommended to uninstall MPDr versions 1.4.1.0 or above prior to installing the
latest version. See MPDr Uninstaller Instructions on DealerNet.

Note: Beginning with MPDr Version 1.4.0.1, the MPViewer contained in MPDr will
automatically import any downloads contained in the MIC DataViewer. Once this is done,
the MIC DataViewer can be uninstalled as it is no longer used or supported.

BEFORE INSTALLING MPDr

- Check the environment required for MPDr software operation, and install all required
software packages in advance.

The operating environment of .NETFrameWork 3.5 SP1 or later is required.

1) Ensure that the required environment has been established by following Step 1
"Checking the required operating environment" below.
2) If not established, download the required files from a Microsoft download site, and
install them.

INSTALLING MPDr

Note: License agreement with Hitachi does not allow downloading of complete
installation file.

- Install the service software installer from DealerNet MPDr page (Step 2 below).

1) Left click on “Install MPDr” link.


2) When the “Install MPDr” window opens, left click the “Install READY” link.
3) In the pop up window left click the “Run” button to begin installation.
4) MPDr Software will begin installation - Follow prompts to install.

2) Left click the “Install READY” link in the pop up window to begin
installation

3) Left click the “Run” button to install MPDr or “Cancel” button to cancel
installation.
4) After the installer file has been decompressed, please select language.

Note: If an installation failure error occurs at this point it will be necessary to delete
a file and try again. The error may look like this:

If this error is encountered navigate to the [C:\MaintenancePro\MPDr\Data] folder


and delete the WinDrZX.dat file. Then start installation from Step 1. This file will be
recreated during the installation program.
5) Next MPDr will ask to import existing MIC downloads from MIC
DataViewer. Click the Yes button to import the data. Importing data may
take a while if it has to import many files. The window below will be
displayed during the importing process.

6) The following window will display when importing MIC data files
completes. Since the MIC DataViewer will no longer be used it may be
uninstalled at a later time using the Windows Control panel.

7) When the software installation is complete, the window shown below


opens. Click the OK button to finish installation.

8) If the PC is running Windows Vista


or Windows 7, the following
window may display after the
installation process finishes. Click
the “This program installed
correctly” option.
