Animal abuse is wrong and deserves harsher punishment because it is not ethical.
Moreover, animals are being hurt and do not have a voice to defend themselves.
However, other people believe they can abuse them because they can exploit them
through selling puppies. Puppy mills should be stopped, because it can lead to
animals being sick and unsocialised. Due to animal abuse creating sick and
unsocialized animals, it should be stopped by educating the public on puppy mills
and the consequences of animal abuse.

Through puppy mills animals suffer because they get pushed to their limits
by being treated badly and saying they get raised in good conditions, but in reality
the puppy mill owners leave them in bad conditions. For instance, at the puppy mill
in Berrien County, Georgia “many of the canines were unwashed and covered in
feces and were never exercised.” Moreover, puppy mills push the pups mothers to
their limit by breeding them back to back to the point that they sometimes die or
get killed for not producing or growing enough puppy. The Chicago Tribune’s
editorial board says stricter laws from Congress “...would provide a crucial layer of
protection for creatures that cannot speak up for themselves.” Owners of puppy
mills may say that they earn money from their business and they treat dogs well.
This is false, puppy mills are creating “sick and unsocialized” animals, says the US
Humane Society.

The abuse these animals go through is horrible. For example not too long
ago in Florida, “Authorities arrived on scene and found the animals in a pen
outside in the heat with no water or shade.” authorities found a bunch of animals
outside a pen and it harmed the animals by not having the shelter they needed.
“Sheriff Mascara said it's very likely criminal charges will be filed against the
owner of the property, and some citations may also be issued.” the sheriff is
punishing these criminals for harming animals it’s important to keep animals safe.
What happened in this situation proves that animal abuse is still happening and can
only be stopped when these abusers are locked up.

Some people make money from animal abuse. For example, muskrat fur is
used for clothing and the pain of the animal is not thought about. Kathleen

Stathowski writes, “Muskrat fur, just one example, is wildly popular.” because
muskrat fur is popular, trappers and buyers don’t care what pain the animal goes
through as long as they get what they want. People need to be more informed
where things come from and what comes along with product. Companies that hurt
animals should be punished equally to any person who abuses animals.

Animal abuse is wrong and deserves harsher punishment. Puppy mill owners
should be punished just as equally as any other person who abuses animals because
the conditions are not good for the puppies health. There is still animal abuse cases
that have gone unpunished or they receive a warning. Some people abuse animals
just for profit and most of the time buyers dont know how that product was made.
Some people are not informed about how common animal abuse is so raising
awareness could probably bring people together to stop animal abuse. Harsher
punishment would help by hopefully teaching abusers a lesson.
