Problem Set No. 2

1. Given: Using the procedure in Lesson Module 2, compute the joint displacements and member
forces for the loaded truss shown below. Assume that members are structural steel, top and
bottom chords have an area of 1200 sq mm, verticals 950 sq mm and diagonals 700 sq mm.

2. Analyze the truss in problem 1 by removing the redundant diagonals. Use the method discussed
in Lesson module 1.
