Note: This is an example only! All books have different lengths, some have one-page units,
others 10-page units, etc.

This timetable will then provide you with a good long term and short term plan of your
teaching. It's common for some work to take longer than you had planned, or sometimes
things may not need as much time as you originally allocated - if this happens, you can just
refer to your plan and adjust as necessary. You need to be flexible in your planning and
allow time for things that may be more difficult than you had planned and for revision.
Planning in this way really helps you to keep focused and on task, so you know what you
need to teach and when. If you don't do this planning, you will find it difficult to know how
long to spend on different things and you may find yourself in a panic at the end of term if
there is still a lot of the curriculum to work through!
