Padre Garcia National High School

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 23 s 2015, our school has organized a school watching team comprising
of 11 members from different levels and organization of the school. The undersigned was designated by the
principal to be the moderator of the said team to facilitate a student- led school watching and hazard mapping
activity. The organization and preparation of the team was made possible last July 05, 2018, Thursday.

January 17, 2019, the School Watching Team has conducted a so-called Student-led Watching and
Hazard Mapping Activity wherein members of the team will roam around the campus to observe classroom
buildings and areas to identify hazardous stuff using the School Watching Checklist.

Attached in this report is the consolidated result of the conducted survey.

STUDENT-LED SCHOOL WATCHING


AND HAZARD MAPPING
What is the purpose of Student-led School Watching And Hazard Mapping?

The Student-LED School Watching and Hazard Mapping aims instruct all public elementary
and secondary schools in the specific engagement of learners in identifying and addressing hazards and
risks.
Its guidelines support DepEd Order No. 50, series of 2011 entitled Creation of DRRM Office and
DepEd Oredr No. 55, series of 2017 entitled Prioritizing the mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management in the School System and Implementation of Programs and Projects Relative.

Why we need to have Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping?


 to strengthen disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness
 to address the vulnerabilities of children inside and outside the
 to raise the awareness and capacities of children to prepare for and manage pssible disaster
and/or emergencies
 to influence family preparedness as the learners could share and apply their lessons at home.

⇒OBJECTIVES:

 Improve students’ level of awareness on the potential hazards and risk within and around schools;

 Increase the participation of children in addressing potential disaster by reducing vulnerabilities; and

 Inculcate a culture of safety in the day-to-day experience of children in school


⇒SCOPE:

This activity shall be conducted by all public elementary and secondary schools

⇒POLICY SATATEMENT

This policy shall require all public and secondary schools to organize a student-led school

watching and hazard mapping activity every first month of the school year.
