1 SSB=4470 output and failure suspension
Phenomena When offline micro-program exchange or volatile PS-OFF/ON was
performed, SSB=4407 was output. In this case, if there was any UR pair
in COPY or PAIR status, failure suspension occurred.

2 Drive blockade and no progress of reboot on SVP
Phenomena Drives was blocked during the time between the completions of SCHIP
micro-program exchange download processing and reboot initiation, and
the reboot processing status displayed on SVP did not make a progress.

the completions of SCHIP micro-program exchange download and reboot

3 TC failure suspension after cache blockade


Phenomena When a cache PCB was blocked during host I/O to a TC P-VOL,
SIM=0xd41003 and SSB=B839 were output, and only one of TC pairs
was suspended by failure.

4 Failure of UR Open MxN function during CCI pair addition


Phenomena In UR Open MxN configuration, when pair addition was executed from
CCI while the status of JNLG was "Stop", the UR Open MxN function

5 Micro-program update failure in configuration without DKA
Phenomena At micro-program upgrade in a configuration without DKA, if DKAF
was also checked on Micro-program Exchange dialog box and the
upgrading was executed, the operation itself was completed normally, but
[MP Ver. (Curt./FM)] on Version window of SVP Maintenance window
showed abnormality. All the information on [MP Ver. (Curt./FM)] was in
red. Besides, * (asterisk) was added to the end of version of DKAF.

(1) Configuration without DKA
(2) On Micro-program Exchange dialog box, DKAF is checked.

6 ABEND of DKA replacement/installation or DKA blockade


Phenomena When micro-program downgrade was executed while DKCMAIN was
selected and DKAF was not selected, micro-program consistency of
DKCMAIN and DKAF was not checked, and micro-program downgrade
ended normally. (SVP message=SMT2434i, SSB=1Axx)
After that, the following problem might occur.
(1) DKA replacement ended abnormally.
(2) DKA installation ended abnormally.
(3) After turning power OFF or PS OFF, when the system was activated,
DKA was blocked.

8 I/O processing stop with SSB=B801 output at pair deletion
Phenomena When a UR pair using LUSE volumes was deleted during I/O processing,
the I/O processing stopped and SSB=B801 was output.

(2) There is a UR pair using an LDEV used for LUSE.

9 Inconsistency among JNL groups in MxN configuration

consistency in each JNL group was kept.)

11 ALARM lamp and SIM output at MP PCB failure
Phenomena During dump collection, when an MP PCB failure occurred, ALARM
lamp lighted up and SIM=3073xy (Processor blockage EC=32FE) was
output.

12 Host I/O time-out or SSB=12F6 output


Phenomena When a host issued an I/O while the operating rate of processor was high,
the I/O wrongly turned to time-out (performance of host I/O degraded) or
SSB=12F6 was wrongly output.

13 No check before replacement of CHT with path for TC/UR


Phenomena When CHT with a path used for TC/TC for Mainframe or UR/UR for
Mainframe was replaced, a warning message was not displayed and
replacement was preceded. As a result, if the number of paths became
fewer than the minimum, the pair status of TC/TC for Mainframe of
UR/UR for Mainframe became Suspend and SIMs=D400xx, DC00xx and
DC60xx were output.

Phenomena During LDEV format, multiple DRRs were blocked and SSBs=7B48,
7B58, and B2CB were output.

15 Pair suspend at path failure


Phenomena UR for Mainframe or XRC pairs suspend when an HPF I/O is being
performed, and the HPF path fails between the host and the DKC.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are met.
(1) URz volumes are in other statuses than Suspend or XRC volumes are
in Pair status.
(2) zHPF on host side is enabled and there is an HPF license on RAID
side.
(3) A FICON path failure (including cable disconnection) occurs. (a host
message such as "IOS050I CHANNEL DETECTED ERROR" is
reported)

Phenomena When the PAV mode was switched to Hyper PAV on a host, SSB=6D79
and host message IOS071I (START PENDING) might frequently be
output.

(1) Mainframe host connection
(2) One of the following operations is executed during I/O processing.
(a) The host PAV mode is switched to Hyper PAV while the Hyper PAV
license is already installed.
(b) While the host PAV mode is Hyper PAV, the Hyper PAV license is
installed.
(c) After the PAV license expires while the host PAV mode is Hyper
PAV and the Hyper PAV and PAV licenses are already installed, the
PAV license is installed again.

18 RCU operation failed or executed for a wrong RCU


Phenomena When an RCU operation (such as path addition, path deletion, or RCU
option change) was executed from CCI, the operation failed or was
executed for a different RCU.
Also, if a registered path was specified at an RCU operation (path
addition) for a RCU where 8 paths already had been registered, the RCU
operation failed.
SSB1=2ED6, SSB1=3005, and SSB=48D3 were output.

(1) RCU is registered and then deleted.

(4) The host issues an HPF command to DKC.

Phenomena During read I/O processing in multiple devices in a FICON environment,
if CHK2 occurred due to a hardware failure or LA error, SSB=7A20
(HTP_EC=0407), which was supposed to be output once, might be output
twice.

Phenomena When migration was executed by using Transparent Data Migration
Facility (TDMF) after SETCACHE CACHEFASTWRITE OFF from

was output and the TDMF processing was stopped.
