Advantage and Disadvantage of Internet

Nowadays, Internet has spread widely in world, also in Indonesia. Because the easy of the
access, internet is loved by all people all around the world. However, internet usually have
advantage, and also disadvantage. There are so many advantage by using internet, such as we
can find any kinds of article, knowledge, and information.

Internet also very useful for students to help them search their task and search many research
for college students. Another internet’s advantage is we can communicate with people all
around the world and other country using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. More of
that, internet can usually communicate to our family and friends from far away to keep in touch
with us.

Before internet came into existence, to communicate with someone who isn’t in the same place
as you, you would have to call them. Or if you wanted to send them a note, you had to send a
letter through mail. But, we now have the ability to send and receive message through
electronic mail (we call it e-mail) without the need of a postage stamp.

Another advantage, you can learn in internet. Using a search engine like Google and Internet
Explorer, you can ask virtually or type your question and find a website with an answer to that
question, in no time. There are also millions or more of videos on sites, people will find it on
Youtube, that help explain various topics and many different subjects.

Through the internet, shopping has also got a complete makeover thanks to the contributions
of the internet. You have many website selling a varieties of products online, such as Lazada,
Shopee, Tokopedia, Zilingo and many more. E-commerce has got a facilities because of the
internet and entire global business deals can be conducted over the internet.

However, for all its advantages and positive aspects, internet has its dark and ugly side too.
Some students will spend too much of time through the internet. Students are likely to neglect
their studies. Students might lose concentrate on their studies because they spent too much time
on internet. Some of them can’t even divide their time to do homework.
With a large amount of information freely available on the internet, theft and misuse is likely
possibility. Sometimes you see cases of people using someone else’s information and research
and passing it off as their own. This is possibly an illegal action, but people seems feel it free
to copy other work, because no one can know their action.

Children nowadays seem losing their ability to communicate with others. They are used to
communicate with others via internet but they cannot communicate with others face by face
fluent. It was strange sight that internet had make people losing their ability to communicate.
It is because people now are over depending on internet

Critique

The essay with the title ‘Advantage and Disadvantage of Internet’ is interesting. Internet
is the thing most needed by people in Indonesia. There so many advantages from using the
Internet that can make people do something easier. In the other hand, Internet also has negative
impacts for human. So, people must use the Internet wisely to evade the negative impacts in
Internet.

This essay is lack of result of research. It should be better if the author put some
relatable evidence to prove the statement that contain the advantages and disadvantages of
using Internet. For example, they must do the research of how many percentages of children
are addicted using Internet. So, the readers can know how many addicted percentages of using
Internet for children. The author also forgot to put the ‘s’ word at the of word ‘advantage’ and
‘disadvantage’ because they are plural noun. So far this essay is good and interesting to read.
The author divided the example clearly, but it would have been better if the author had the
researchers’ opinion to support the example of advantages and disadvantages.
