Introduction:
Memory is life and Life is Memory. Memory forms the basis of all our success in
academic examinations, professional career or life in general. There is nothing
called, “Good Memory” or “Bad Memory”. We only have, “Trained Memory” or
“Untrained Memory”. Simply speaking, Memory is a skill. We can learn and master
Memory and through training, memory can be improved. Learning these Memory
Techniques will give students an added advantage in succeeding in their
examinations and most importantly, this will boost up their self-confidence.
In 21st century, more than the hard work, one needs to learn Smart work to succeed
in Life. Hence, there is a need to train students on basics of Brain, its functionality,
techniques of improving Memory, Speed Reading and Concentration.
Proposal:
It is proposed to conduct “Train Your Brain - Creative Memory and Speed Reading
Workshop” for all the Students of Classes 5th and above for your students.
It is suggested to conduct the training in 2 batches. Every batch will attend 4 hours
of workshop daily and we can complete the training in 5 days for both the batches
simultaneously.
Batch I – Class 5, 6, 7 and 8
A special training will be given for participation in the Indian and World Memory
Championships comprising of 10 disciplines.
Workshop Contents:
1. Witness Unbelievable Memory Demonstration by Squadron Leader
Jayasimha, President World Memory Sports Council for India.
2. Learn Creative Visualization technique. This will help them to memorise list
of words, key points, long answer, essay questions and speeches.
3. Learn to memorise scientific terminology.
4. Learn to memorise Numbers there by Historical years, constants and all the
numerical data would become easy to remember.
5. Learn the techniques of Memorising English Vocabulary.
6. Learn to Overcome English Spelling Mistakes
7. Learn Countries and Capitals and General Knowledge Data.
8. Memorising Formulae, Equations and Theorems
9. Learn to Study Science Subjects
10.Map Pointing
11.How to remember what we study for a long time?
12.Text book application of these Memory Techniques
13.Study Techniques
14.Develop Concentration.
15.Overcome Examination Fear
16.Overcome one subject weakness
17.Understand the barriers of Speed Reading
18. Learn the strategies of Speed Reading
19.How to double their Reading speed
Methodology:
Learning by doing method will be followed. All the students will actively participate
and learn in the workshop.
Requirements:
Auditorium with a Public Address System, LCD Projector, Screen, White Board and
some Marker Pens would be needed.
