1. Installation Setup
STEP 1: Open Frame Door

① Un-lock the front door.


② Release the latch by pulling and turning the latch
90 degrees counterclockwise.
③ Pull to open the door.

STEP 2: Power down 4G Configuration

① Power down of RRHs(supplied by other power


sources than LRI).
② Switching off RUC power switch to power down D2U.
③ Switching off breaker for D2U on the LRI PDP.

STEP 3: Prepare the ABIA

① Remove the ABIA from its packaging.


② The ABIA has no ancillary components and is ready for installation.

STEP 4: Prepare the ASIA

① Remove the ASIA from its packaging.


② Unpacked the ASIA accessory bag. This bag includes a ground wire (P/N 994815) and M5
screw. These items will be used in later step.

STEP 5: Prepare the AMIA

① Remove the AMIA from its package.


② The AMIA has an additional contents bag. Only the Velcro ties to secure the optical cables
and the ESD strap will be used in a later step.

STEP 6: Remove the AMIA Rear Cover

① Remove the AMIA rear cover by loosening and removing six torx screws.
② Set the hardware aside for being reused in a later step.
③ Gently pull off the rear cover to prevent damage to the EMI spring gasket.

STEP 7: Remove the Power Bus Bar

① Remove the power bus bar by loosening the captive screws.


② Slide the bus bar to the left to disengage.
③ The bus bar will not be reused.

2. Prepare the ASMI
STEP 8: Check the Air Flow Direction

① Pull the fan out and see the air flow direction arrow on fan mechanics points.
② Make sure the air flow direction is front-to-back. If the air flow direction is back-to-front,
turn the fan 180 degrees and insert the fan back.
③ Route the fan cable between the top lid and fan.
④ Repeat the above steps for the second fan.

STEP 9: Reinstalling the Rear Cover

① Align the spring clips to the fans.


② Align the rear cover to the mounting holes and gently push it into place and be careful not
to damage the EMI gasket.

STEP 10: Disconnect the CCM(Alarms) Cable

① Disconnect the CCM (Alarm) cable from the RUC by pushing on the RJ-45’s locking tab and
disengaging.
② Leave the other end hanging.
③ This cable will not be reused.

STEP 11: Disconnect the RUC INT Alarm Cable (if any)

① Disconnect the eAMiB INT cable from the RUC by pushing on the RJ-45’s locking tab and
disengaging.
② Leave the other end handing.
③ This cable will be reused in later step.

3. Remove Components
STEP 12: Disconnect the CPRI and Backhaul Ethernet Cables

① If not clearly labeled, label all cables before disconnecting.


② For each CPRI cable, remove fiber from SFP, remove SFP, clean fiber and re-insert CPRI
into SFP.
③ Temporarily secure these cables out of the way for being reused in a later step.

NOTE:
CPRI and backhaul Ethernet cables and associated SFP reused are foreseen. If not, please refer to ASMI
installation Document for CPRI/backhaul cabling.

STEP 13: Remove BBU Power Cable
① Remove the BBU power cable between
the PDP and the BBU (RUC).
② Pull and slide down the black protective
boots to expose terminals.
③ Loose the M4 hardware using a wrench
with 7mm socket.
④ Remove the other end of the BBU
power cable by squeezing the locking
tab on the Molex Mini-FIT SR connector
and disengaging from the PDP for BBU.
⑤ The power cable will not be reused.

STEP 14: Remove the RUC Ground Cable

① Remove the ground strap from the BBU (RUC’s) center terminal by removing the M4
hardware using a torque driver with 7mm socket.
② Remove the other end of the ground cable from the cabinet inter terminal by removing
the M6 hardware using a torque driver with 10mm socket.
③ The RUC ground cable will not be reused.

STEP 15: Remove the BBU Subrack Ground Cable

① Remove the ground strap from the BBU (Subrack) by removing the M4 hardware using a
torque driver with 7mm socket.
② Remove the other end of the ground cable from the cabinet inter terminal by removing
the M6 hardware using a torque driver with 10mm socket.
③ The BBU Subrack ground cable will not be reused.

STEP 16: Remove the BBU

① Remove the BBU from the right and left bracket. Loosen and remove four M6 screws.
② The BBU will not be reused.
③ Set the four screws aside for being reused in a later step.

STEP 17: Install 2U Blank Filler

① Install the 2U blank filler to the OMK2 where the BBU has been removed.
② Secure it to the OMK2 by using four M6 screws remained in previous step.
③ Torque to 2.8Nm.

STEP 18: Install the Air Blocking Panel
Case 1: there is an air blocking panel in cabinet

① Loosen and remove four M6 screws.


② Move the air blocking panel down. Leave
3U space(9 holes) below TRDUs for
installing ASMI.
③ Reinstall the air blocking panel to the
vertical mounting rails.
④ Align the mounting holes and use four
M6 screws.
⑤ Torque to 2.8 Nm

STEP 18: Install the Air Blocking Panel
Case 2: there is no air blocking panel in cabinet

① Tilt the air blocking panel and put it in the


back space of the cabinet.
② Leave 3U space(9 holes) below TRDUs for
installing ASMI.
③ Install the air blocking panel to the vertical
mounting rails.
④ Use four M6 screws (to be found in LRID
internal mechanical kit).
⑤ Torque to 2.8 Nm

STEP 19: Install OMK3

① Install OMK3 to the vertical mounting rails below the TRDUs (above the air blocking panel).
② Align the mounting holes and use two M6 screws per bracket supplied with OMK3.
③ Torque to 2.8 Nm.

4. Install Components
STEP 20: Install the AMIA

① Install the un-populated AMIA on the OMK3.


② Secure the AMIA to the OMK3 by using four M5 screws supplied with OMK3.
③ Torque to 2.8 Nm.

STEP 21: Install ESD Wrist Strap

① Attach the end of the wrist strap to one of the ‘ESD buttons’ on the AMIA.
② Place the other end around the user’s wrist.

STEP 22: Install ASIA into the AMIA

① Install ASIA plug-in unit into AMIA carefully.


② Tighten the two screws by hand.
③ Torque to 1 Nm using a T x 10 screwdriver.

STEP 23: Install ABIA into the AMIA

① Install ABIA plug-in unit into AMIA carefully.


② Tighten the two screws by hand.
③ Torque to 1 Nm using a T x 10 screwdriver.
④ Repeat above steps for installing other ABIA (if needed)

5. Install Cables
STEP 24: Reconnect the RUC INT Alarm Cable (if any)
① Reconnect the RUC INT alarm cable to D4U RUC.
Case 1: if the D4U has single CCM, connect to the lower RJ45 connector of lower RUC of D4U.
Case 2: if the D4U has two CCMs, connect to the lower RJ45 connector of upper RUC of D4U.
② Change 3G node B D4U BTSpackaging type to 9711 LightRadio indoor DC compact to allow
cabinet alarm management by the 3G system by using TIL commissioning tool.
(For commissioning method refer to 9YZ-06496-0090-PCZZA document)

5. Install Cables
STEP 25: Install ASMI Ground Cable

① Ground the ASMI to the cabinet’s grounding point using items provided in ASIA accessory
bag.
② Attach one end of the cable to the ground tab on the ASIA with an M5 screw.
③ Torque to 2.8 Nm
④ Secure the other end to the cabinet’s grounding point with a flange nut.
⑤ Torque to 2.8 Nm

STEP 26: Install ASMI Power Cable
① Using MC-TRDU power cable as ASMI power cable.
② Cut the end used to connect MC-TRDU.
③ Strip 4 cm of this end(if necessary) and 18 mm of the wires’ insulation using the cable
stripper.

STEP 26: Install ASMI Power Cable (continuing)
④ Lift the latch of the power cable input of ASIA plug-in unit.
⑤ Insert stripped end of the power cable into the power cable input.(0V black wire to the left of
terminal and -48V blue wire to the right of terminal). Push it all the way to the back of
terminal. Make sure there are no stray conductor strands.

STEP 26: Install ASMI Power Cable (continuing)

⑥ Close the latch of the power input so that the power


cable is firmly secured.
⑦ Install the other end connector to the PDP port. Ensure
the locking tab has engaged by pulling lightly on the wires.

STEP 27: Reconnect CPRI and Backhaul Ethernet Cables
① Reconnect backhaul Ethernet cable to EIF2 connector of ASIA.
② Reconnect 3 CPRI cables to RF1, RF2, RF3 connectors of first ABIA.

6. Power Up
STEP 28: Power Up the Base Station

① Turn on or connect power sources suppling power to the 4G RF modules.


② Check the LEDs and fuses to ensure that all modules are powered.
