Objectives of the Study: Map: Key Map:

• To appreciate the traffic characteristics of Gandhinagar city

in terms of :
a. Average Daily Traffic
b. Hourly Variation
c. Peak hour flows
d. Directional distribution
e. Traffic Composition
f. Volume / Capacity Ratios
Limitations of the Study: Legend:
• Survey on outer cordons was done on different days.
• Survey at outer cordons was done for 12 Hours and for mid
block points the variation of duration of survey varies from
4-12 hours.

Goods Vs Passengers Observations: Legend:

• Max Traffic Volume was found on
Cordon Point 1 Which was
around 59953 vehicles (24 hours)
• Min Traffic Volume was found on
8 which was around 10434
Vehicles (24hours)
• Max V/C ratio was found on
cordon point 2 in the peak hour
which was 0.7 and having a LOS
of C
Expansion Factors are derived from Jhunjunu • Max share of Goods Traffic was
Mid Block Points
Mobility Plan: found on Outer cordon 3 which
(24 Hours) Arterial Roads peak hour is 8.9% of the 24 was about 17% Outer Cordons
hour traffic. • NMT traffic was almost absent on
Total Volume (12 and 24 Hours) (vehicle/day) (24 Hours) For Lower Hierarchy Roads is 8.4% of the the Outer Cordons.
