1.0 INTRODUCTION

Human Resources Development is a faculty subject that students of Business and


Management (Human Resources and Administration) semester 3 and 4 must take. These
subjects are an approach to enhance student’s personal enhancement, self-improvement and
also to increase the teamwork and tighten the love between each other. This program will also
enhance the cooperation of students in groups.

This program were involved of 35 students and 4 lectures. These student were divided into
small groups according to their respective activities. The lecturers which are consist of 4 were
committed to ensuring that the program is running smoothly to what have been planned. This
program will be held for 3 days 2 nights at Tamteh Homestay KM 22, Jalan Putera, Kg Lubuk
Pinang, Ayer Hitam, Alor Setar.

2.0 OBJECTIVES
1) To determine the identity of all the students.
2) To improve confident level of all the students.
3) To build leadership skills of all the students.
4) To increase students with creative, critical, and also innovative skills.
5) To improve the skills and capabilities that students need to face the challenges in real
life.

3.0 TARGET GROUP

Participants involved in the program were 35 students of Faculty of Human Resource


Management:

1. 35 students of Human Resource Development

2. 4 lectures of Faculty of Human Resource Management

8.0 PROGRAM REPORT

8.1 Before The Program

Before the game are conducted, students were very shy to communicate between each
other. For example, part 3 students does not mix with part 4 students while studying in class
and doing some homework.

Furthermore, there were also several students that were less friendly and more prefer to be
alone without talking to others students in the classroom. As the result, most of them have
problem in intellectual and self-developmental because of lack in communication between each
other.

Hence, after a long discussion, our group member which were consist of 8 students decided
to handle a game called “Spices Game” that need to be played during Team Training Session.
This game consist of teamwork skills, communicating skills, planning skills and more in order
to solve all their problems. This game is a very interesting game that will be easily participated
by each of members in the groups.

The materials used for this game is Clove (Bunga Cengkih), Fenugreek (Halba), Star Anise
(Bunga Lawang), Black Pepper Seeds (Lada Hitam), Candlenuts (Buah Keras) and Green
Beans (Kacang Hijau).

Then, the students in each group need to separate the spices by the type of spice. The
groups that managed to separate the spices quickly, are considered as the winner.
8.2 After The Program

From this game we have done introduced general knowledge to the students about the real
world by conducting this game. This game allows student to be more productive, have
leadership skills, and also teamwork skills. As in the future they might be able to apply in their
life.

During the game, students were quite happy with our game because of our group members
who are actively entertaining them. Furthermore, they also have built the sense of socialism,
tolerance and compassion in themselves.

In addition, after finish our game we could see the increasing in teamwork skills and self-
confidence among the students. For example, they can communicate and give their own opinion
in front of their fellow friends.

Lastly, based on this game, their intellectual and thinking skills would be improve. This
would be more useful in order to be a successful person in their life.

9.0 OBSERVATION

9.1 Achievement

Based on observation for this game, we have achieve some values that not only bond the
participants closer but also motivate them, creating a positive environment. This game helps
improve internal communication and productivity, boosting moral and helping participants get
to know each other better.

When a group of employees successfully complete to separate the spices, it creates


momentum and makes them feel good about themselves, it increases participants’ confidence
in their, and their teams’ ability.
Finally, the value that we have achieved is to have fun. This value is often overlooked but
we believe this value is one of the most important to have in any games. This game reinforced
the value of having fun in the training and what significant results can actually be achieved
when fun is involved.

9.2 Problems and Solutions

Based on our game in Personal Development Program which is Spices Game, we had
recognize that there was problem and solution through this game.

Firstly, the problem that can be identified in this game is where the members need to
separate the spices by their own categories. So, there are six types of spices that need to be
separated by each group. Then, the first group that successfully separates the spices first should
name each type of spices correctly and accurately. So, that it can be decided who the winner
for this Spices Game. As the solution for this game, the way we can solve the problem is each
member need to have knowledge and team work with each other in order to separate the spices
into their own categories. Therefore, it indirectly will increase their knowledge in recognizing
the spices and apply it in real life.

Besides that, the second problem that being recognized in this game was, there were a
few of groups who try to play unfairly by tried to put the spices to somewhere else. This is
because they believe by that way it will speed up the process of spices to being separation, so
it will make their group to win the spices game.

Based on that problem, we had found the solution that can be solve in handling in this
game which is one of activity member becomes a jury for each group to judge the game, so
that it becomes fair and satisfied for all team members as well as can determine the real winner
to win the game fairly and equally.

In conclusion, this game needs to play fairly and patience in order to solve the problem
and train each member to work in team to make sure the process of separate spices being well
and thus win the game fairly.

10.0 CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, hopefully the program's activities and objectives can be achieved.
Therefore, we will strengthen our relationship between the students of Participant Development
Program (PDP). This program will contribute to teamwork, good communication skills and
enhancing self-confidence and courage in dealing with society. We hope that cooperation will
be provided in the success of this program.
