Why Is There So Much Writing?

As a representative for the generation that only does things when they feel
like it, I would say that if writing is a requirement they will be more likely to do it,
however, it is still up to them on whether or not they feel like it. For me, i’ll only
put my time into something if it matters to me. For example, If we are texting then
I consider you a friend, therefore, I will text back. It may not be right away but I
will get to it, it ultimately depends on if i’m watching netflix.
People share emotions
through writing now
more than ever. As
things around the world
happen everyday
people share emotions
through writing,
whether it’s through
writing texts, letters, or e-mails people share all different types of emotion.
According to CTIA, 6 billion SMS messages are sent each day in the US, over
180 billion are sent each month, and 2.27 trillion are sent each year. Then
according to www.campaignmonitor.com as of 2018, there are about 124.5 billion
business emails sent and received each day, while there are about 111.1 billion
consumer emails sent and received each day. Just imagine how many rejection
texts from your crush that is. Or the amount of Emails from your boss saying you
keep eating their food in the fridge even though everyone knows the fridge in the
workers lounge is a free-for-all.
The reason this generation has the “I’ll do it when I want to” attitude toward
things, and especially writing is because they think we do more writing in school
now then we’ve ever had. They think this because it’s so easy typing and texting
so when it comes to physically writing they think it’s so much work and they then
compare it to a chore. When they get out of school they don’t want to write
because it reminds them of school or because they feel like it’s pointless
because we have technology that makes it way easier.
The topic on why people write matters in today's world because people do
write more, even if it is mostly in texts and they put more feeling into what they’re
writing because now that the world is more open to things and people aren’t as
judgemental others are allowed to express themselves more and talk about
certain topics they used to not be able to talk about because of the era.
If i’m in class, i’ll write depending on whether or not it is for a grade. Like
this essay right now, if this wasn’t for a grade I wouldn’t be doing it. Partially
because I wouldn’t have thought of it but also because I don’t really want to.
What I really want is to just pass and move on with my life. Doing this is a step in
the right direction because it’s mandatory.
People write because they want to hurt others, people write because they
don’t want to hurt others, people write because they want to, people write
because they have to. So why do people write? People write because it has
something to do with their feelings and their life.
