Romeo

We get to meet Romeo first and he is lovesick for Rosaline. At first I thought that he is boastful
because of his look but as I keep watching the movie I learned more about his character. Now I
think Romeo is that ideal man for all the girls like me because of what he did to Juliet. Maybe he
acts a little childish but still he expresses the role successfully.

Juliet
We meet Juliet for the first time when Lady Capulet was telling her about her Paris proposal to
marry her. Juliet is that type of girl who is very quiet and obedient to her parents. However, later
on at the ball when Romeo kissed her I realized that she was more capable and grown up and I
think that’s the other side of Juliet. Hailey really did a good job for being Juliet because of her
attitude and it’s like natural at all.

Nurse
As the movie went on I saw nurse personality for Juliet, she is one of the closest worker of Juliet
when she’s still a child. She is very protective to Juliet’s safety and loyal to Romeo and Juliet’s
secret marriage. I’m satisfied of what the nurse act in the movie.
Benvolio
To be honest as I saw Benvolio at the movie I thought that he is Romeo but as I keep watching I
understand their role which is Benvolio is a friend of Romeo. Benvolio’s acting makes me want him
too and my favorite scene that Benvolio is involve is when Tybalt and Romeo are fighting and
Benvolio stops them. This showed to me that he was a peacemaker, a loyal friend and honest from
the way he tried to help Romeo with his love problem.

Mercuito
Mercuito is a friend of Romeo and also of Benvolio, the three of them are vey close to each other
and because of that closenes when one of them is treated by the Montague Mercuito is always
there to rescue. I still remember when Mercuito had a fight with Tybalt that causes him to die
because of their families condition.

Juliet’s Parents ( The Capulet’s)

Lady Capulet and his husband is very cold hearted and selfish that there are times that they didn’t
even let Juliet to explain her side. Juliet’s mother and father are so unreasonable when they
decided to arrange the marriage proposal for Juliet and Paris just for wealth and position. They act
natural, the fierce on their face remain until the movie end, and that makes me an idea that being a
parents of Juliet suits them.

Romeo’s Parents (The Montague’s)

The Montague’s is just like the Capulet’s they are selfish too when it comes to wealth and position,
even theres no much scene of Montague’s still I can say that they are selfish because of what the
story/movie says, remember that the Montague’s and Capulet’s have a quarrel, and my conclussion
about that is they fight for their wealth and position. As I was saying they are good actor and
actress too like Capulets for playing there role.

Tybalt
If I’m not mistaken he’s a cousin of Juliet who had a fight with Mercuito and Romeo, Tybalt is a
kind of person who is really hot-tempered, violent and really hates the Montagues. For me Tybalt’s
character is uncontrolable and he acts like he’s the real Tybalt.

Friar Lawrence
I think if I were the nurse I will have a crush on Friar Lawrence because of what he did to Romeo
and Juiet’s secret marriage, this give a feeling that Friar is that strong to coverup the marriage of
the two lovebirds. He really did a good job at playing the role of Friar Lawrence.

Enchanter
At a short period of time that I saw the enchanter I can say that he is a good actor because he
deliver his role like one of the real enchanter that we can watch in fairytales.

Friar John
I can say that he acts the way that he used to be(a Friar), he acts a good friar/ follower but I feel a
little bit angry because of what he did that result a misunderstanding for Romeo and Juliet.

Prince of Verona
Prince Verona looks cool when he judge(act the role) the death of the lovers that leads a peace to
the Capulets and the Montagues

Rosaline
A girl who acts sweetly which is her role that’s why Romeo fall inlove with her in a long time.

Romeo and Juliet fall in love at a party. But they come from families which hate each
other. They are sure they will not be allowed to marry. Nevertheless, helped by Friar
Laurence, they marry in secret instead. Unfortunately, before their wedding night
Romeo kills Juliet's cousin in a duel, and in the morning he is forced to leave her. If he
ever returns to the city, he will be put to death.

Juliet's parents told her she must marry Paris. Her parents do not know she is already
married. She refuses in the beginning, but later agrees because she plans to fake her
death and escape to be with Romeo forever; again with the help of Friar Laurence.

Friar Laurence designs the plan. He gives Juliet a sleeping potion. She appears to be
dead and was put in a tomb. However, Romeo does not know about the plan, visits her
grave, thinks she is dead, and kills himself. When Juliet finally wakes up, she discovers
that Romeo is dead and then kills herself.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star-crossed lovers
whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his
lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Today, the title characters are regarded
as archetypal young lovers.
Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic romances stretching back to antiquity. The plot is based on an Italian
tale translated into verse as The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke in 1562 and retold in prose in
Palace of Pleasure by William Painter in 1567. Shakespeare borrowed heavily from both but expanded the plot by
developing a number of supporting characters, particularly Mercutio and Paris. Believed to have been written between
1591 and 1595, the play was first published in a quarto version in 1597. The text of the first quarto version was of poor
quality, however, and later editions corrected the text to conform more closely with Shakespeare's original.
Shakespeare's use of his poetic dramatic structure (especially effects such as switching between comedy and tragedy to
heighten tension, his expansion of minor characters, and his use of sub-plots to embellish the story) has been praised as
an early sign of his dramatic skill. The play ascribes different poetic forms to different characters, sometimes changing
the form as the character develops. Romeo, for example, grows more adept at the sonnet over the course of the play.
Romeo and Juliet has been adapted numerous times for stage, film, musical, and opera venues. During the English
Restoration, it was revived and heavily revised by William Davenant. David Garrick's 18th-century version also modified
several scenes, removing material then considered indecent, and Georg Benda's Romeo und Julie omitted much of the
action and added a happy ending. Performances in the 19th century, including Charlotte Cushman's, restored the
original text and focused on greater realism. John Gielgud's 1935 version kept very close to Shakespeare's text and used
Elizabethan costumes and staging to enhance the drama. In the 20th and into the 21st century, the play has been
adapted in versions as diverse as George Cukor's 1936 film Romeo and Juliet, Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version Romeo and
Juliet, and Baz Luhrmann's 1996 MTV-inspired Romeo + Juliet
