The Flash

Noah Abdool Italo Calvino

DEVIANCE
Behaviour that
violates the standards
of conduct or
expectations of a
group or society.
"Stop a second!" I shouted, "there's something wrong!
Everything's wrong! We're doing the absurdest things!
This can't be the right way! Where will it end?"
SPEAK A LITTLE TRUTH

AND EVERYONE LOSES

THEIR MIND.

O'Shea Jackson Sr.

The Flash captures the narrator’s temporary break from society’s
norms as he falls into a state of disbelief and misunderstanding. The
narrator only questions the structure of things in passing while
crossing a street, with no true foundation to back up his questioning,
and was met with harsh looks and instant denial. This threat against
their accepted way of life is dismissed without consideration because
people are more scared to face what is wrong than the feelings of
guilt living with it. Those who have the strength to fight against what
is wrong are immortalized into human history as a hero or a martyr
who fought for what is right.
EVERY
REVOLUTION
WAS FIRST A
THOUGHT IN
ONE'S MIND
Ralph Waldo Emerson
It takes an extraordinary person to step out of
society’s bubble and stand on their own two feet.
From as early as one’s parent teaching them to eat,
individuals are conditioned to believing that things
are to be a specific predetermined way and anything
beyond that scope is absurd and unheard of. People
have become so accustomed and comfortable with
the way things are that any deviation from this
standard is looked down upon viciously. Those special
people who have the vision and strength to stand up
and deviate from society’s norms are among the
greatest the human race has to offer. Fortitude is not
determined by the ability to deal with the world’s
injustices, but the willingness to fight against them
and pave the way towards a better life for future
generations.
The most
courageous act is
still to think for
yourself. Aloud.
Coco Chanel
